You can refer the service manual of CQ60 Series PC which helps you to reassemble the notebook. The manual is a PDF file.

Persario/HP charger scam

Remove the battery before you plug in the charger/adapter and see what it will do. It can't recognize a battery mode if there is no battery. Maybe the charger you are using is not appropriate: different voltage, wrong polarity, the tip is not in contact with the plug terminals, or the circuit is not closed to allow the passage of current.
Rocketfish, Targus , and a few others, manufacture universal chargers that work with may laptop makes and models.

Compaq presario CQ60 laptop overheating and keyboard stops typeing and everything is connect to it like it should i took keyboard apart to check it it does this when it overheats

Usually a laptop overheats due to dust blocking the Fan, vents, heatsink or improper air flow, due to obstructing the vents, fan , etc. Use a Can of Compressed Air directed into the fan, vents. Hopefully you don't need to replace the Thermal Paste on the CPU/GPU , and opening the Laptop to thoroughly clean with Air and a small brush. A laptop Cooler is a option. Use this as a guide, HP Support: http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/ProductList.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&taskId=135&prodTypeId=321957&prodSeriesId=3768152 AND: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmR5v-yM9z8 Use ESD protection, take your time, take pictures or video to refer to. Mind the tint screws.

My hp compaq cq60-415ee laptop becomes too hot and shuts down when using it,thhen you have to wait till it cools off before it comes on again.

Does your fan run normally, or is it always running at full power? There are a few things you can do to improve the performance.

First, make sure that the laptop is placed on a flat, hard surface. If you are using your lap or a bed, loose clothing or bedsheet may block the vents. Blocking a vent can cause a laptop to overheat quickly.

Second, try cleaning the fan. This may require full dissasembly of the laptop. (Find a link to a PDF of the Service Manual for your laptop for full instructions on how to do this, as you must take it apart from the top down. Use Google or the HP website.) Use tweezers to pull out any hair, lint, or debris clogging the fan. DO NOT try to turn the fan blades, the fan motor is fragile and prone to damage.

Third, you can buy an external cooler for your laptop.

If all of the above fails, you may need to replace the internal fan of your notebook.

Good luck!

I have blown compressed air in every hole possible and my fan is still loud and getting louder daily. Do I need to take apart my laptop to clean it better?

If you take laptop apart, replace the fan. Usually, when the fan keeps making noise after cleaning, it means that the bearings in the fan are shot.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonial for my response

Thanks, Joe

The fan of the Presario CQ50 is too noisy. Any suggestions?

1.replace fan.
2..clean fan [you will have to dismantle laptop or take to shop].
If you clean your fans your self ,always hold fan bladesand dont let them spin as they can back feed and damage your cpu or graphic card. DT.

Persario V2000 cooling fan

Use the table of contents to skip to where it shows you how to start disassembling it. Be sure you organize and label all of your screws accordingly so that when you have to put it back together, you dont have extra ones.

Page 160 is when it gets into disassembling the fan.

Be careful!! Take your time.
