HP Laserjet M1005 printer Shows Initializing only and don't get ready after waiting for a long time. Kindly help me to solve this problem.

11 years old today. long run there, truly amazing.
did you find and read the service manual on it;.
or is this a toy printer (cheap = toy)
the good printers have books one is called service
and has service codes to read by command.

do a reset on it, hold power button in, then connect AC power
next count to 10 and release or 30 seconds?
long reset this is.
try a new laSer jet cartridge first,
clean it, all paper paths first of torn paper and dust.?

i think HP does not support this printer due to age
but here is the manual, service.

Showing no print cartridge

Please check your cartridge. Just shake well and put once again and try to print the page you want. If the cartridge is full and if that printer repeatedly shows that error means please change the cartridge. Because some cartridge comes like this sometimes that powder will freeze.

Scanner error 12 on hp laserjet m1005

When the lid or door of an HP Laser Jet printer isn't properly closed, the printer's display will read "Error 12." You can usually correct an "Error 12" by closing the printer's door securely -- a process which may require that you first fix the orientation of a toner cartridge so that the door can close. In some instances, an "Error 12" appears due to some other issue, such as a missing toner cartridge or a defective paper-feeding component.

Trying to print on HP Laser Jet M1005. Printer shows no print cartridge although the print cartridge is in the machine?

Have you tried to turn off the printer and reinstall the cartridge? Try a few more time and to see if this works. Or, if your cartridge is a low quality generic one, the printer might just can't detect the cartridge. Just get an original hp q2612a toner will help solve the problem.

What is the replacement printer for HP Laser Jet

This document provides information about replacing the print cartridge for the HP LaserJet 1010 printer series, including life expectancy and replacement instructions. Print cartridge life expectancy The life of the print cartridge depends on the amount of toner that your print jobs require. When printing text on letter/A4-size paper at five percent coverage, the print cartridge lasts an average of 2,000 pages. This assumes that you set the print density to three and disable EconoMode. (These are the default settings.) See Ordering supplies for information on ordering replacement print cartridges. Changing the print cartridge Follow the below instructions to change the print cartridge:
  1. Open the print cartridge door, and remove the old print cartridge. See the recycling information inside the print cartridge box. Figure 1: Removing old print cartridge c00028312.gif CAUTION: To prevent damage, do not expose the print cartridge to light. Cover it with a piece of paper.
  2. Remove the new print cartridge from the packaging, and gently shake it from side to side to distribute the toner evenly inside the cartridge. Figure 2: Gently shaking new print cartridge c00028313.gif
  3. Pull the tab until all the tape is removed from the print cartridge. Put the tab in the print cartridge box to return for recycling. Figure 3: Removing tape from print cartridge c00035442.gif
  4. Insert the print cartridge in the printer, making sure that the print cartridge is in position. Close the print cartridge door. Figure 4: Inserting new print cartridge c00028315.gif

How do i refill my HP M1005 MFP Laser Printer toner cartridge?

You should not refill the cartridge...they are a one time use only in any HP laser printer. To use a refilled or refurbished cartridge either voids your warranty, and if you have a printing defect as the result of not using HP-branded toner or an refurbished cartridge HP will not be able to do anything for you...I used to work for one of their call centers doing printer support, and this was a common theme.

There are many places that may advertise that they refill the cartridges with HP-approved toner, but that is far from true. In order to keep your printer functioning properly, even though it may cost more, it is in your best interest to only use new HP cartridges in your unit.
