This is due to the dusty mirror inside the laser box.

1. Switch OFF the printer and remove the back cover.

2. Then carefully remove the connector and label them with some ID's to put it back in same positions.

3. Remove the Cable & Cable trays. Then remove the screws of the PCB frame carefully.

4. Now you will be able to see the laser box. Remove the screws of the laser box and take it out.

5. There is screw at the center of the box. Remove and open the box. You will be seeing the mirrors inside the box.

6. Using the cotton buds, clean the mirrors carefully without damaging them.

7. Reverse all the steps above and test you print.

Just printed a photo using the ip4700 & it has come out red/orange/white. Does this mean I need new ink cartridges already as I've printed about 50 photos to date since I purchased the printer new....

you may try to replace your ink cartridge for a quick solution, if it still fails to print correctly, your print head nozzles may have dried up and clogged.

Printer will not print yellow or orange, but prints other colors correctly. Brand new lexmark cartridge.

> will not print yellow or orange

Yellow is one of the printer's "primary" colours.
Orange is mix of "red" and "yellow".

So, an empty "yellow" cartridge, or clogged ink-jets would cause your symptoms.

Xerox 7345 color comes out orange instead of red.

If you go into your User settings. Login 11111.
What you want to do is the Auto Gradation adjustment. It will print out a test pattern and you will place it on the glass and scan it.
I think there are 4 times you repeat it, for copy, print, photo print.
That should correct it. There is also a Tec Color adjustment on your print driver if the issue is only when you print.

Had it a while and it stopped working.

Come on copier tec you should know better, need to know which light is showing orange, Drum, toner, paper, status?

Intuition tells me that you have a orange toner light and a red status showing, and you are using a non OEM toner, but thats guessing.

Printer ripair

The BJC 3000 will flash two different colored lights in a pattern to signal several different errors. From the documentation I have the two colors are orange and green, could those be the colors you see? At any rate here is the code: Two orange flashes: Out of paper, paper jam, or paper feed error. If no paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder, or if the paper is not loaded correctly, set the paper correctly and press the Resume button on the printer to continue printing. Three orange flashes: Paper jam. If paper has jammed in the printer, carefully remove the jam and press the Resume button to continue printing. Four orange flashes: A tank inside the BJ cartridge (print head) is out of ink. Replace the empty BJ tank and press the Resume button to continue printing. Five orange flashes: BJ cartridge is not installed properly. Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely. Six orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is not installed. Remove and reseat the cartridge correctly. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed. Make sure the blue locking lever is locked down securely. Seven orange flashes: BJ cartridge (printhead) is defective. Remove the BJ cartridge and check that the contacts on the cartridge and cartridge holder are clean. Make sure the orange protective cap and tape have been removed and reinstall the cartridge. If the error occurs again after you resume operation, you may need to replace the BJ cartridge. Eight orange flashes: Waste ink absorber almost full. The printer has a built-in waste ink absorber to hold the ink that is consumed during print head cleaning. This error indicates that the waste ink absorber is nearly full. Press the Resume button to skip the error so you can continue printing. The POWER light flashes orange and green alternately: Service error. A service error means the printer requires the attention of a qualified technician. If you have any more questions let us know otherwise please don't forget to rate this post.
