After the dishwasher runs there is a lot of soap left in the soap dispenser. I've tried powder and liquid. Liquid is a bit better. I've tried using less soap but there still is a lot left. Also my glasses seem scratched. Thanks!

With the LG LDF6810 model, this is not a common problem. Please try the following test, With and empty dishwasher, add a small to normal amount of dry dishwasher powder and run an (empty) load.
Check to see if any soap remains in the dispenser cup.
If any remains, here are three things to do: 1.) Upgrade your dishwasher detergent to a name brand powder (e.g.: Electrosol or Cascade)
2.) When you load the dishwasher, do not place large items in the front, near the door/soap dispenser.
3.) Before you load the dirty dishes for the next several loads, with your hand, turn both the upper and lower wash arms so they point at the door. Load as you normally do and push the racks fully in. Before you close the door, spin both the upper and lower arms and confirm that they spin freely and neither hits anything. if either does not spin freely, pull out the rack and arrange so the arms can spin freely.
I find that the only time I have left over detergent powder is when the wash arms do not spin freely.
This is a common problem on most every energy star/water conserving dishwashers.
Please report back what you find, OK?

Kenmore elite dishwasher

Your best cleaning option would be to put a tablespoon of citric acid powder in the machine and run it on hot normal load all the way through. The citric acid dissolves much of the gunk that builds up in dishwashers without damagin any of it's components. You can get citric acid powder at your local Target or CVS (Walmart or Home Depot in Canada).

Another thing to think of... if you are using the dishwasher packets, you will have buildup in your machine as the packets are slow to dissolve fully and can cause plug-ups in certain conditions. Using the hot cycle is really the only way to use them effectively. Liquid soap is a much better alternative.

Why does Dishwashing solution not empty into dishwasher?

Sounds like the soap door is not opening. This is controlled by a relay in the door. This panel needs to remove to troubleshoot.

Soap not breaking down in dishwasher

Be sure to run kitchen water hot at faucet before starting dishwasher or you will get an entirely cold water washer. Also be sure the jet dry dispenser is not empty. Only use liquid jet dry. Pay no attention if soap says with jet dry. Does not work as well. Hope this helps.

Soap not disolving

is it liquid or powder? we had this problem with cascade powder.... tried liquid cascade and the same thing happened even though i'd been using cascade for YEARS.... manual said could be detergent was "old" and beyond its shelf-life, or that we used too much or too little (go figure that one out LOL).... not trying to promote a brand here, but we switched to palmolive ECO gel and haven't had a problem since -- no goop left in dispenser!.... hope that helps... -cynthia :)

Is powder or liqued detergent better for front

They are trying to make money off you!!!!!!! LIQUID!!!! Dont ever!!! use powder soap in your front loader. Powder soap doesnt dissolve all the way and then gets into the bearings of the washer and eats them away! This caused about a 450 dollar repair for your repairman. Never use powder soap.

Soap left in dispenser

Hi Vneck,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: When you run a cycle, there is soap left in the dispenser at the end of the run.

Do you use a powdered soap? This can be a problem for some d/w. Sometimes it occurs as a d/w gets older. Try a liquid d/w soap. Make sure it says "dishwasher" on it.

Soap foam left after dishes are washes. can't dry properly. and always has soapy water left in it and on the washed plates.

Try adding some liquid fabric softener to your dishwasher. This will reduce the foaming. Also make sure there is rinse agent in the proper dispenser, this will reduce the soap sticking to the dishes. Finally, reduce the amount of dishwasher powder or liquid you put in for each wash. If water remains in the bottom of the dishwasher, check if there is a filter or drain hose clogged. Is the dishwasher drain hose connected an undersink garbage disposer? If yes, make sure it is run periodically so it does not clog up.

SOAP DISPEN

is the machine heating ok?, if so then the dispenser and or the electronic control board is most likely faulty.
if the machine is still in warranty call your lg service agent and when the tech is on site, request that he change both the dispenser assembly and the control board.
if you are not over filling with powder then using liquid will make no difference.
