The most common problem is the unloader valve. The valve that you use to adjust the pressure need to come out and then free up the unloader valve with some penatrating oil and maybe even some emery cloth. If you cant free it up then it will have to be replaced.

Powers off immediately after starting

My immediate reaction would be to cut your losses and buy a new unit as sooner or later you will run into a part that is no longer available.

CONTACTOR RELAYCLOSE BUT LOOK BURNED , FAN MOTOR START , BUT COMPRESSOR MOTOR START AND STOP IMMEDIATELY. CONTACTOR STAY CLOSE BUT COMPRESSOR DON'T RUN.OR COME ON AND STOP IMMEDIATELY.

sounds like a locked rotor, did the compressor get hot? did you check max amps on the compressor when it attempted to start?compressors have thermal protection built into their windings, a switch that will open to protect the compressor, and if the rotor is locked, normally you have to replace it, you could try putting what is called a start assist capacitor on it (AKA hard start kit) I would recommend the two wire model, easy to install.
You will need to wait for the thermal overload to reset, turn power off to unit till you get the kit on there.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. Are any of the cycle lights lighting up like rinse and normal and is the light on front blinking and pausing if so how many times is it blinking? Try turning the power off too the unit for five minutes and back on, because if the lid was open some or was stuck it can stop the unit from running.

My GE Profile model WPRB8050D0WW won't start!

  1. Clear the ERROR from the screen: Press and hold the MY CYCLES and BACK buttons simultaneously for 3 seconds. The control will display any recorded errors. Please write down what error codes are shown on your screen in case service is needed. If a MORE icon is displayed on the screen, press MORE to list additional errors. When the EXIT button appears, press EXIT.

  2. Remove Power: Follow the onscreen instructions to remove power (unplug unit) and then immediately plug unit back in.

  3. Clear Setup Mode: After power is restored, a setup screen that begins with "Congratulations..." will be shown. DO NOT PRESS the OK button shown at the bottom of the screen. Press the START/STOP and POWER buttons simultaneously until the Home Screen is displayed. Your unit is ready to function normally.

Unit will not power on.

One or more sections of the power supply are not coming on. This unit has both fuses and ICP's (integrated circuit protectors) in the power supply that may open up causing your symptom. You will need to check and/or replace any open fuses or ICP's. If they immediately open up again, you will need the manual to figure out what is loading the power supply, or what component in the power supply has failed.

Washer starts then stops and displays f28

hello southerndav4,
Welcome,

you said, you when the unit is started in any cycle it will lock the door and then run water in for a couple of seconds. It then stops the water and unlocks and immediately locks again. There is no further action except the timer counting down until f-28 code. There is no tub rotation and the ccu was replaced.

I see you did a couple of tests and replaced the CCU!!
You did do what I would have suggested.

You may need to use hands on service this time!
rather than swapping out expensive parts blindly!

Let me know...

This is the condition fo the F28 error code
SERIAL COMMUNICATION ERROR
The communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly.

This is what you need to check and or repair

1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU).
Check connections of the CCU board within the housing.
Make sure all grounding switches are engaged.
3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components.
4. Plug in washer or reconnect power.
5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic Test or any cycle.
6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor.
7. Check the drive motor for powered rotations.
8. Check that the serial harness at the MCU is not mounted upside down. The wires should be to the left when facing the MCU connectors.
