Concentric rings with different color distortions - time for a new set?

Hi Pravin,

Thanks for being willing to answer these questions!

Our Panasonic 27" tube TV came on this morning with concentric rings of color distortions. It kind of looks like a Bull's Eye has been superimposed over the picture. Sort of psychadelic. I think the inner circle is yellowish, with a blueish ring around it, and then with a greenish ring around that.

I'm thinking it is time to get a new TV, but I figured I would ask if you had any quick ideas about what is wrong.

Thanks,

~Dave

How can i limit the number of rings before the answering machine kicks in on my panasonic 6.0 phone

Answering system settings Number of rings before the unit answers calls You can change the number of times the phone rings "Ring count" before the unit answers calls. You can select 2 to 7 rings, or "Toll saver". The default setting is "4". "Toll saver": The unit's answering system answers at the end of the 2nd ring when new messages have been recorded, or at the end of the 4th ring when there are no new messages. If you call your phone from outside to listen to new messages , you will know that there are no new messages when the phone rings for the 3rd time. Hooking up fax to KX TG7871 Panasonic Phone

There is excellent support here on basic fax setups. You have what is known as "Distinctive Ringing Service". There are pros and cons to the various setups. I assume you recognize the rings and answer only when the ring for the landline talk comes on. The fax will pick up the faxes, and the answering machine will pick up the voice.

Need model number of your fax - google that!

Service manual for your phone.

Distinctive Ringing Service setup While it is not available everywhere, a distinctive ringing service can be purchased from most telephone companies. With this service, more than one phone number is assigned to the same phone line. Each phone number will ring differently. The main number will ring with a normal single ring and the additional number will ring with a distinctive ring pattern assigned by the phone company.
When a distinctive ringing service is used, set the Rings to Answer to 2 and then follow the steps below to set the distinctive ringing pattern:
  1. Press Setup , press 4 , and then press 1 to enter the Answer Ring Pattern setup of the Advanced Fax settings.
  2. Use the Right Arrow to scroll through the available settings. When the ring pattern assigned by the phone company displays (double or triple rings), press OK .

Hi There my uniden 5.8GHz Digital rings only twice before answer machine starts how do i extent the time of ringing? thanks

For the TRU9380, you can set the number of rings for the answering system from the handset. Press Menu/Clear and select Answ Setup. Then choose the Ring Time submenu. Move the cursor to select the number of rings (Toll Saver, 2, 4 or 6 Times). Press Select to save the setting; you will hear a confirmation tone. (Note: the answering machine must be on.) In Toll Saver, it picks up after 2 rings if you have new messages and after 4 rings, otherwise.

You can find the manual for most Uniden 5.8 GHz phones by looking up your model here: http://www.uniden.com/products/productlisting.cfm?cat=Cordless%20Phones%205.8%20GHz%20Digital . Check here if you have a different model.

I hope this helps.

Our phones only ring 4 rings before going to message bank. We have a telstra wall connection, and 3 panasonic KX-TG1840AL

Hi,

You can change the number of times the phone rings before the unit answers calls.
You can select 2 to 7 rings, or “Auto”.

“Auto”: The unit answers after 2 rings when new messages have been recorded, and
after 5 rings when there are no new messages. If you call your phone from
outside to listen to new messages, you will know that there are no messages when the phone rings for the 3rd time. You can then hang up without being charged for the call.

1 Press OK.
Select Answer System, then press >(Right navigation button).
2 Select Settings, then press >.
3 Select Number of Rings, then press >.
4 Select the desired setting, then press >.
5 Press End button

Set answer machine on a kx-tga101s to pick up on 8 rings

From the manual, it doesn't look like you can reset the ring count with this phone set.

You can find the manual at www.panasonic.com

One color distorted and not converged

Not an expensive repair, relitively speaking. Both convergence amps need to be replaced, Ic7001 and Ic7002 ( Panasonic p/n# C5aa00000203) are both Stk392-110 Sanyo built Ic's and cost about 25-30 dollars plus labor to install and a slight convergence set-up...
