You need to unlock the player before it will play discs from other regions. UK has region 2 discs while the US has region 1.

Search on Google for your DVD model and unlock code.
Dial in the code using your remote and you should then be able to play any region discs from around the world.

My Samsung smart tv & my dvd/bluray player recorder I bought at same time. Haven't had blurays til now & wont play at all. Rental ones did now I've bought my own & they don't play! Not tech minded.HELP

Each DVD player is assigned a code for the region in which it's sold. For example USA/Canada are Region 1 players. DVD players will refuse to play discs not coded for its specific region. In effect, this means that a DVD purchased in one country is normally unreadable on a DVD player bought in another region.

If your rental DVDs work in the player then there is nothing wrong with your DVD player. If you have purchased DVDs that do not work the problem is with the DVDs you have, not with the DVD player.

When we insert a disc we get the msg...'no disc'. we can play other discs but want to record programmes. Please help. Sue Sanderson

Usually when you get that is because that either your system can read DVD +R or DVD -R, try with another brand of blank DVDs like Sony or Verbatim. Try by buying just one of each DVD +R and DVD -R and then you'll see if it is the DVDs that you bought that is not compatible with your system.

Can't play USA DVDs on a UK purchased product

Go on e-bay and purchase a region free DVD player for cheap. Wait for Christmas and re-gift your UK player to some other poor bastard.

I have a LG DC593W DVD player and I want to be able to play DVDs in Australia that I buy from the UK and USA, what is the code I use please?

you can change the "zone" in your DVD player to that of the UK / USA but then it may not play your local DVDs .. you can only change the zone 5 times so you dont want to be changing it back and forth .... you could have two units set up with one for UK and one for local zones .. or its sometimes possible to modify the software in the player to be "code free" .. there are lots of machines that are for sale that are already modified or you might find a mod for your present machine .. that way it will play anything .. to find whats available you can google "dvd code free"

Cannot play dvds as they do not matcth the local code ?

This sounds like the DVDs are from outside the UK. The UK uses Region2 dvds and the USA and others use Region1. It is possible to get dvd players that play both or use your computer to play them. It should say on the disc or box what Region it is.

Trying to play dvd but says wrong region soneynhv-dx350ab?

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution.
