This is because the life of battery is finished.This occurs due to prolonged charging.

Please replace the battery.DONOT charge anymore there may cause explosion of the battery.

if it plays ok with the cord plugged in then you might have a shorted cell in the battery.. that prevents the battery voltage from ever getting to its design value .. the charger shows this like the battery never gets charged ... removing or replacing the battery should eliminate the blinking symbol...

Use an Iris cleaner to remove the dirt from the laser eye.

Hired disks are usually dirty and deposit muck on the reading eye over a oeriod of time. This needs too be regulkarly cleaned. That way you will have less of the unreadable errors

This is a Common Problem. First of all, you need to make sure that the Battery is not at Fault. Have you tried to use AC Charger?

If not,use it and see, if that could resolve the Problem.

If Problem Persists, we need to Open the Player and Check the Board. It could be a Small Circuitry Fault.

Do you have the Tools like Multimeter, Screw driver and Soldering Iron?

Note - If under Warranty, it is advisable to get it Repaired / Replaced as Opening of the Player might VOID the Warranty,if any.
