Zanussi washing machine drum will not go round at all

Hi there can you please help me with this problem i have a zanussi electrolux washing machine and the drum wont go round at all my husband has checked the belt and thats fine and the motor still works even if you try and turn the drum with your hand from the inside it still wont turn. thanks tracy

Zanussi ZWF1112W is what we have. The drum is going round fine but it is making an extremely loud noise in doing so. Doesn't seem to be offline.

The bearing may have siezed or you have something jammed between the drum and outercasing

i had a similar problem with a zanussi machine
a cheap bracelet got washed with some clothes and it found its way into the drum housing jamming the drum.

it may have been cheap to fix, but i just got rid of it cos it was 4 years old anyway

i now have a zanussi ZWF1231W just past its 1 wear warranty that has just died completely except for an "on indicator light"
the store inform me that i will have to pay the zanussi engineer a Euro 90 call out charge, plus labour costs, plus parts if needed.

im a little bit disappointed with zanussi to say the least

hi check the pump first it has to drain before it spins the other cause could be the module control board the control the motor speed hope it helps

How easy is it to do a bearing change on a Zanussi progress 1400 washing machine please?

It is far from easy, as it usually involves a complete strip down, not recommended unless you know what you are doing.
Also, if the drum shaft is worn, then that is a major expense.

WASHING MACHINE

Unless you can hear it catching as the drum is going round I would leave well alone, it will probably just get lodged near the heater and not cause any problem.
If the m/c has a removable rear panel then you can get access into the drum by removing the sump hose fastened onto the bottom of the drum. you might find it stuck there.
If no removable panel, then it is a strip down job, Not recommended, unless you know what you are doing.

have you checked the filter behind the flap on the front of the machine, this could be blocked. if the machine is full of water though you will have to manually drain it by putting the grey outlet hose into a bucket or a washing up bowl. you will also need one or two towels to place on the floor because there wil still be a bit of water left in the ipes even though the drum is empty.
