Volume control has to be at highest volume to hear TV

The volume control logic circuit inside the TV [circuit board] is faulty. Contact any experienced service technician. This is not a user repairable fault.

Check its speaker first. If voice coil of the speaker or tis cone paper has damaged, speaker will produce a dull low sound output. If the speaker is found OK, check the audio output section of the unit. This section circuits can be located inside the TV circuit board. look for any loose or bad soldering terminals at the audio output IC. It is best to resolder all the suspected solder points by applying a little more solder, withut making any solder bridge short in between adjecent solder terminals. If this also does not help you, replace the audio output IC. It is damaged. OK.

On the TV-use your finger to adjust the volume level, about midway, then use the remote to shut off the tv, then turn on tv with remote. Volume level should be better! If still not loud enough...using your finger on the tv...turn up volume & repeat remote steps.

Skype has its own volume controle try to adjust it accordingly! if it is at highest so may be your wave volume is lowered. "Double click" on the speaker icon in the task bar. It will open the volume control panel. There you can see several volume controles. Usually the second one from left is the wave control.

Monitor volume is affected by TWO volume controls (or even three...)
1: Volume on the monitor can be set to 80%
2: Main Volume on the COMPUTER can be set to your liking.
3: Wave volume on the computer mixer settings should be set for 80% (See Sound on your control panel or right click your volume control near the clock)

If all these are right and the volume is still low, check that the audio is not set for surround 5 or 7 channel and the monitor audio connector is plugged into the REAR green connection on the computer.

Still problems, the audio driver in the monitor is shot.

Are you connected to a cable box? If you are then your cable box might have its own volume control on the front of it which will limit the audio going to the TV.

I found that the problem was also with my HD box. I was able to turn the volume up on the box.
