DVD Stuck in Player

I rented a DVD and put it into the DVD player and turned the player off until we were ready to watch the movie. I turned the player back on and hit eject so I could go to setup to make a change to the TVG. When I finished I exited out of setup and hit play. It tried to work for a few minutes but it wouldn't play so I hit the eject button so it would start all over, but that didn't work either. Finally it came back and said "NO DISC". I tried to turn the power off and eject but neither would work. I unplugged the system hoping it would reset itself and when I plugged it back in the power went off. So I hit the Eject button but it wouldn't eject the DVD. I tried the above a few more times but it still won't work or eject the DVD. Any suggestions on how I can get the DVD out of the player?

While the above problem is not in the manual, I would try pushing and holding down the Open/Close buttton for an extended period to see if the unit will 'unlock' itself.

Hi, Very sorry for your loss. As always the first step is to make sure the player is connected to the wall outlet and turned on. To put a disk in the DVD you should push the "Eject" button to open and close the tray it looks like a home(a triangle over a dash) on the front side of the box down left corner of the tray. You have the same button on the remote marked "Eject". Push either once, put the disk with the shiny side down on the tray and push the Eject button again to feed the tray back into the player. Usually the disk starts automatically and you will see a menu on the TV with alternatives like "Play the movie", "Setup", "Scenes",... you may highlight the "Play the movie" alternative, using "Up", "Down", "Left" and "Right" and then press the "OK" button. Or just push the "Play" button either on the box or the remote control. If you click "Here "you can download the manual in PDF form. To open it in your pc you'll need "Adobe Acrobat Reader" (or any other PDF reader) installed.

You have the rating set on your DVD player to lower than the rating of the movie you are trying to watch.

Somewhere in your setup menu of your DVD player (press the "setup" button on the remote with disc stopped or no disc) you will find a place to set the parental lock. Either turn it off, if that is an option, or set it to the rating of the movie (or higher) to enable viewing.
