Dear Sir,

Welcome to Fixya support.
Here i listed some tips to clean your LCD Monitor

Things you may require to clean your LCD
* A soft lint-free cotton cloth (100% cotton t-shirt, terry towel, etc.,)
* Distilled water
* Isopropyl alcohol (or white vinegar)
* Spray bottle
You may clean the screen depending on the smears and smudges present on the screen. If only little dust is present on the screen try dry dusting the screen by wiping the screen with a cotton cloth along one direction, top to bottom or left to right. If this does not give desired results, then you can try cleaning the screen with some of the cleaning solutions.
Dirt and other organic stains left on the screen can be effectively removed by using alcohol and water solution. Alcohol cleans any organic marks like fingerprints or oily marks left on the screen, while water removes any dirt or mineral strains present on the screen.

I think it helps.

Have a nice day!

How to clean screen

I dont know which type you have but here is how to clean either:

CRTs
Those big chunky CRT monitors have glass screen which are easily cleaned. The important thing to remember is that you don't ever want to spray any liquid directly on the screen. Instead, spray the cloth with water or a mild window cleaning solution then wipe the screen. You can use the same damp cloth to clean the entire monitor case, as well. If you prefer, you can also use moistened paper towels to clean CRT monitors, You will be only cleaning the outside of the monitor case and screen. Never open the monitor casing which contain electric voltage that can cause a shock.

Flat Panel LCDs
LCD monitors are often called flat panel monitors because they are flat and thin. These are the types of screens that are used in most laptop computers, and they are also becoming very popular for desktop computers. LCD screens are softer than CRT glass screens, so they require some extra tender loving care. Keep your fingers and sharp objects away from these screens since they are susceptible to damage and scratches.
Use a soft dry cotton cloth to remove fingerprints and smudges from the screen. If this does not completely remove the dirt and splotches, use a small amount of isopropyl alcohol on the cleaning cloth that has been dampened with water. (A small amount of vinegar can be substituted for the isopropyl alcohol.) Again, spray the liquid on the cloth and never directly onto the screen. Do not use paper towels on an LCD screen as they can scratch the screen. Never use ammonia, ammonia-based cleaners, or strong cleaners which can cause the surface to yellow and become brittle.
It is good to have a special clean cloth that is dedicated to use on the LCD screen. Don't pick up any old rag, as dirt particles in the rag can scratch the surface of the screen. Special LCD cleaning cloths are available and can be an excellent investment.

How to clean a monitor screen?

The best way to clean lcd monitors and touchscreen devices is with a microfiber cloth and a solution of 50% water and 50% white vinegar. This is basically what they sell in stores for about 1000 times the price that you can make it for.

Can I clean my ViewSonic LCD Monitor (VE510b) with water (using cloth)? Please tell me easy procedure of cleaning my ViewSonic LCD Monitor screen. email: [email protected]

Hi

Time Required:
Cleaning a flat screen (LCD) monitor usually takes less than 5 minutes Here's How:
  1. Turn off the monitor. If the screen is dark, it will be easier to see the areas that are dirty or oily.
  2. Use a dry, soft cloth and very gently wipe the screen. A great choice would be the microfiber type of cloth used to clean eyeglasses.
    See Tip #1 below for kinds of cloths to avoid.
  3. If the dry cloth did not completely remove the dirt or oil, do not press harder in an attempt to scrub it off.
    Pushing directly on the LCD screen can often cause pixels to burn out.
  4. If necessary, dampen the cloth with distilled water or with an equal ratio of distilled water to white vinegar.
    Many companies also sell small spray bottles of special cleaner for flat screen monitors but the vinegar mixture is usually just as effective.
    See Tip #2 below for products to avoid.
  5. The plastic edge that surrounds the screen can be cleaned with any multipurpose cleaner but take care to avoid contact with the screen itself.
Tips:
  1. Avoid using paper towels, toilet paper, tissue paper, or something like your shirt to wipe the LCD screen. These non-ultrasoft materials can scratch the screen.
  2. Avoid cleaning products that contain ammonia, ethyl alcohol, acetone, toluene, ethyl acid, or methyl chloride. These chemicals can react with the materials that the LCD screen is made of which could yellow the screen or cause other kinds of damage.
  3. Never spray liquid directly on the LCD screen or it could run inside the monitor and cause damage.

Can I clean my ViewSonic LCD Monitor (VE510b) with water (using cloth)? Please tell me a procedure how can I clean my ViewSonic LCD Monitor screen.

To clean the monitor first turn it off then use something like a microfiber cloth or something that is not abrasive to clean the surface. Don't press down excessively this can cause damage to the monitor. If that does'nt get all the fingerprints and such off a solution of distilled water with a little
white vinegar will do fine just use it lightly and don't drown the monitor. Make sure to use just enough solution to lightly dampen the monitor and not so much as to run down the monitor and
risk getting inside where the circuits are.

What is the best way to clean the monitor screen?

The TFT or LCD screen is one of the most expensive component of your notebook or desktop computer and they're very sensitive to dust, fingerprints or even when you cough or sneeze without covering the mouth and nose.

Unlike the standard CRT monitors with Glass screens, you are not advised to clean an LCD Monitor by wiping it with a piece of dry lint-free cloth since the sensitive display is likely to get scratches from dust particles.

So how do you clean an LCD monitor screen without buying any of those expensive LCD Monitor Cleaner solutions or Monitor Wipes available in the market ? We look at some proper methods and precautions before you clean the monitor [should apply to HDTVs, projection TVs and Plasma TVs as well]

Think of LCD Displays just like the soft and delicate skin of your newborn baby - Be very gentle and never put even the slightest pressure on the computer screen with your hand.

Second, you need to find a piece of soft cloth - old cotton handkerchiefs lying in your mom's wardrobe should be fine but don't try tissue papers, toilet rolls or even shower towels as the fabric will scratch your screen permanently [like sandpaper or utensil scrubbers]

Either turn the monitor off or set the background to black and hide all the desktop icons and minimize the open windows. This will easily help you identify the dirty areas of the monitor.

To prepare the solution for cleaning LCD monitors, you will need deionized or distilled water and vinegar or iso-propyl alcohol - Don't use tap water or mineral water as they could leave white marks on the screen because of the dissolved salts.

Dilute the vinegar or IPA with distilled water [1:1] and spray this liquid on the cloth. Never ever spray liquid directly onto the LCD screen. Moisten the cloth with this home made LCD cleaner and gently move the wet cloth in just one direction - from top to bottom.

Word of Caution: Be sure that the LCD screen is dry before closing it or using the computer. Do not use any solutions that contain Acetone, ethyl alcohol, toluene, ethyl acid, ammonia, or methyl chloride. Never touch the LCD screen with your fingers as this can cause the pixels to burn out.

Black spot on the monitor .

I beleive the liquid had leaked into between the LCD panel and the filter sheets. Hopefully it will dry out, otherwise you have to disassemble the panel which not to be done unless you have clean room to work in.

THERE IS SOME FINGER PR INTS IN OUR LCD MONITOR WANNA ASK HOW YO CLEAN AND REMOVE TNE FINGER PRINT

The best way is to buy a special microfibre cleaning cloth for LCD monitors. Very often the same cloths are used to clean sunglasses so you may already have one of those. Do not use any cleaning liquid. Rub the screen very GENTLY with the cloth until the prints are gone. You can rub fast but remember not to press too hard or you can damage your monitor.
