Do you have a desktop that has access to the high speed connection? If you do (and I assume that you do since no one should have high speed without a computer), then you should already have a modem.

You will need a wireless router that will allow you to share that connection with multiple computers.

As long as you have a wireless modem in your home your acer can connect to it.
If the high speed connection modem you have is not wireless then you can connect via network cable or get a wireless router.
Without more info, those are your options.

What you need is a wireless router. Your high speed internet connection at home might have a wireless router built into it, but some don't. What kind of internet connection do you have? what's the model of the modem you have. If you're not sure, just list the model numbers of all of the devices you have running.

Installation speed and simplicity Installing a wireless LAN system can be fast and easy and eliminates the need to pull cables through walls and ceilings. Components of a wireless LAN To set up your Wireless network at home you need to have the following:

Access point (router)
Access points (routers) are two-way transceivers that broadcast data into the surrounding environment. Access points act as a mediator between wired and wireless network. Most routers have a built-in DSL modem that will allow you access to a high speed DSL internet connection. The ISP (Internet Service Provider) you have chosen normally supplies a modem/router with the subscription to their services. Read carefully the documentation supplied

Attach the other end of the cable to the Ethernet port on the back end of your high-speed modem.
nsert the installation disc that came with the wireless router into your Acer computer's disc drive.
Follow the on-screen installation instructions.
Access the Acer's Start menu and open the Control Panel.
Click "Network and Sharing Center," and then choose the "Set up a new connection or network" link.

Acer Aspire 5733 Wireless connection lost

Check the wireless router and high-speed modem.

If the two are not powered on, or if the Ethernet cable connected the two is not completely inserted into both connection ports, you are unable to access the Internet on the Acer Aspire One laptop computer.

Activate the wireless Internet connection on the laptop computer.

Right-click the wireless icon on the desktop, then choose "Enable" from the pop-up menu.

Without activating the wireless receiver on the Acer Aspire One, the laptop is unable to detect any wireless network.

Select the appropriate network you wish to connect to.

Your computer may be attempting to connect to a different Internet connection, preventing you from access the network you desire. Right-click the wireless icon, select "Search for available wireless networks," then choose the network you want to access.

Restart the computer.

The system may have booted and failed to detect the wireless receiver. Restarting the computer corrects this issue.

hope this helps
