Fan extraction of a Samsung Top Freezer refrigerator

I owe a Samsung top freezer refrigerator that because of the ice accumulation on fan working area it spoiled. I live in a lake border (Colbun Lake in Chile, Southamerica) where technitians are not available so I need to extract this fan, buy the replacement part, and replace it. I already melted the ice with a hair fan and noticed that although the refrigerator fan turns with the hair fan air, it does not work when I plug it on. I assume, because of the noice the refrigerator does when I plug it in, that the rest of it is working ok.
I really appreciate your help.

Test the wire that supply current in the fan, if it's good the fan have to be replaced a new one.

  • Anonymous Feb 21, 2008

Is the ref is switch On? Kindly inspect the wires if it still soldered into the pcb board or some loose connection to the wire.

If the wire is ok, and no such damaged then try testing in the mainboard parts there must be some IC / connector have defect that causing not to supply any current to the fan motor.

    Thanks,

The refrigerator and freezer is not cooling

Few things to check:

1) Remove dirt / dust that has accumulated on the condenser coil located on the back of the fridge, or underneath. Use a vacuum to clean off with.

2) Remove dirt / dust in / around compressor area. Make sure you turn power off first as there are several areas in this area that can "bite."

3) Look for heavy frost / ice buildup in the freezer compartment. Defrost if necessary.

4) Make sure the fan is blowing in the freezer compartment.

5) Make sure there is air flow from the vent at the top of the refrigerator compartment. This air is driven by the fan in the freezer (most models).

6) Loading a lot of unfrozen food into the freezer compartment will have the appearance of the fridge going out, but is actually functioning normally as it removes heat from the food so it will freeze.

7) Your thermostat is not working correctly. Move it to the coldest setting if not already done so. Listen for the compressor to kick on. If it doesn't, bad t-stat.

I am getting a loud noise from the freezer compartment of my older, Kenmore refrigerator.

The noise may be a failing evaporator fan, but it's more likely to be ice that has accumulated around the fan and the fan blades are hitting it.

You will need to access the fan behind the cover in the freezer to check this out. The unit should be off so the blades aren't moving when you check.

Samsung side by side refridgerator rs2630sh freezer not working other side is

Open freezer door, pull evrything out so that you can see back inner wall, look at plastic housing and see if you have ice/frost building from bottom to top of plastic cover, if so you have lost the ability to circulate air, drain possibly plugged up or evap fan not working or possible other cause. If you see ice/frost buildup shut refrig down for four days and let thaw (be sure to put towels aroundthe front of door area of freezer, the power back up and see if after starting if the fan comes on with the freezer door open and you holding in on door light switch(s). If fan does not come on within a few minutes of holding door switch(s) then evap fan is defective, call a repair tech or call samsung.

Can't get temp in fridge to go below 50 F. Freezer works fine and makes ice. It started when our area had a heat wave and the inside of our house was 85+ most of the day. The ice maker stopped working,...

Have you checked the evaporator fan(freezer fan), This problem is hard to detect because the fan spins but not fast enough to circulate the chilled air thru the freezer and refrigerator.

Top refrigerator section will not cool

Check the evaporator fan , freezer must have a fan to avoid ice formation, if evaporator does not work, thermic sensor jams up and freezer stop working. The fan is located behind the panel in the freezer.

Check the back of your freezer, If there is frost or ice, then the unit is not defrosting.
This is often caused by problems with evaporator system.
Sometimes you also need to check the defrost timer, located at the top of the FFC on the Top freezer.
Check also the defrost thermostat, which is on the evaporator inside the freezer.
If it isnt defrosting, change both.
