This is a common problem that is not a good one. But the motor is goin bad. If you try to start it you will hear like a hum then start. Motor is going bad and over heating and shutting down on overload. Sorry. Hope this helps.

Do you have the model number for this. May be motor relay or even the thermistor depending on model number. If it has a thermistor it will be located by the thermal fuse on the exhaust housing,

Dryer runs then stops after short periods (5-10 mins)

THere maybe a thermal limit sensor gone bad. Keeps the dryer from over-heating. Located behind rear panel on most and mounted on the heat tube. Verify with volt/ohm meter if possible

Dryer heat turns off after about 5 min- dyer will remain running but no heat

HI, After the heat shuts down, do you hear a click like it is trying to heat again but then get no flame. The most some problem is the coils on the gas valve go bad and will not reopen after they have heated up.
Remove the cap on the front lower left panel. After dryer has ran and heat shuts down, watch and se if the ignitor glows again (you will hear a click) and the ignitor shuts off before a flame. If this happens, change the coils on th gas valve.
Here is instruction: Normal 0 UNPLUG the dryer. This model you need to remove the two screws under the lint screen. Now use a flat blade screw drive and insert it in the gap between the top and the front panel and pry the top up. Now locate and remove the screws on the inside of the front panel in upper corners. The front should lift off. You will see the two black coils on the gas valve. When you remove the three wire coil, make sure the sleeve inside it gets put back on the post the coils slides onto.
If I can assist you further, please let me know.

Thanks

Kenmore 90 Series Gas Dryer that drys for 10 mins & shuts off...

Check the vent pipe going to the outside of the house, including the vent louver, to make sure the pipe is not partially or fully clogged with lint.

Your symptoms are a classic description of reduced or no airflow from the dryer.

Kenmore 110 gas clothes dryer heats for 20 min then needs to rest for 20 mins before heating again

Cause 1Thermal Fuse
The thermal fuse is a safety device designed to protect the dryer from overheating. The fuse is located on the blower housing or at the dryer's heat source such as the heating element on electric dryers or at the burner on gas models. The fuse should be closed for continuity meaning it has a continuous electrical path through it when good. If overheated the fuse will have no continuity meaning the electrical path is broken and the fuse has blown. A multimeter can be used to test it for continuity. Be aware that a blown thermal fuse is an indication of a restricted exhaust vent from the dryer to the outside. Always check the dryer venting when replacing a blown thermal fuse.
Parts Cause 2Gas Valve Solenoid
Gas dryers have two or more gas valve solenoid coils. The gas valve solenoids open the gas valve ports to allow gas to flow into the burner assembly. If a gas valve solenoid fails, the dryer won't heat. To determine if one or more of the gas valve solenoids has failed, check the igniter. If the igniter glows and goes out but does not ignite the gas, the gas valve solenoid is defective. If one or more of the gas valve coils are defective, we recommend that you replace them as a set.
Parts Cause 3Igniter
The igniter uses heat to ignite the gas in the burner assembly. If the igniter is not working, the gas will not ignite, preventing the dryer from heating. To determine if the igniter has burned out, use a multimeter to test the igniter for continuity. If the igniter does not have continuity, replace it.
