Water is not completely pumped out of machine, I can hear it sloshing under the bowl. Have taken back off and tipped machine and some water has come out but not all of it. It is making the house smell really musty. Any ideas on how to get the water out?

I can hear the water going down the drainpipe and it sounds forceful enough. I have noticed though that when the machine is in the spin cycle it doesn't spin very fast and the pump seems to be labouring a bit. I don't know where the water actually is, I can just hear it sloshing around underneath somewhere when I move the bowl back and forth.

Sounds like you may have some blockage between the tub and pump or pump to stand pipe where water goes down the drain, check all these areas for blockage or kinked hoses

Testimonial: "Thanks, this was helpful. I did what you suggested but unfortunately everything was okay, no blockages or kinks. The pipe is clear."

ok, how forceful does the water come out of the drain hose? it could be a defective pump impeller that pumps the water out, does it pump water really well with force?if not this could be an issue too

Kenmore 2600 TOP LOADER smells like Mildew. I can hear water sloshing around under drum. Is that Normal?

The drain on all washers have this issue. Unless the drain hose runs down hill, when the pump stops, water runs back into the machine that was in the hose but was not drained.

The Washing Cycle has halted with water in the cylinder and "F04" flashing on the micro monitor in the control panel. I have mislaid my manual and request advice please

This error indicates an obstruction in the water pump. Tip machine back so you can fit a bowl under the bottom right hand side. Flip back cover at bottom right to reveal pump filter access - unscrew (quite a bit of water comes out so have the bowl ready).

Bottom right on the front of your machine is a small door that flips down.
Open this and you'll find a drain tube.
Drain the water off into a dish.
Then remove the filter and clean it out.

Good luck.

We find water standing in the drum days after we wash a load. it isn't there when we unload a wash but shows up later. it reeks of sulphur. is the motor on the water pump going/gone bad? it works during...

Turn off the water supply valves behind the washer after you complete a lod. If there is no water in the tub a few days later, the machine has a bad internal water valve.

Error code37 keeps coming on screen

(This is a pump out error).Water isnt leaving the machine fast enough.3 possibilities.1 The pump is jambed up completely with debris therefore no water is leaving the machine at all.2nd There is a partial blockage.3rd There is a diverter valve underneath the machine witch will divert all the water out of the drain hose OR divert all of the water over the top edge of the bowl back into the bowl. This diverter may be stuck ON causeing the the water to just be cycled forever back into the bowl, therefore the water level in the machine never gets lower.the machine is interpreting this as a slow pump out OR blockage.the diverter valve needs to be changed if this is the case.either way you will need to get the water out of the machine.

WHEN WASH IS COMPLETE, WHEN YOU SPIN THE TUB BY HAND YOU CAN HEAR WATER SLASHING.

The pump cannot completely drain all the water out of washers. There will be some water left in the bottom of the tub that you can't see but here slosh around if you move the basket. If your clothes are not wet, this is probably normal.

Mildew smell

water may not be draining completely out cause something is stuck in drainage area.

Other posts tell how to remove the top of washer to look between white outer tub and inner wash tub for sock or something else that is lodged.

Look at my post on "eco smart won't drain, smells hot" for instructions on removing the black motor/white plastic housing from bottom of washer. I had a sock stuck in the very lowest part of the drainage system, water wouldn't drain out and couldn't see the sock until I removed the motor. I was able to pull the sock through the quarter-sized hole in bottom of tub and drain the remaining very stinky water. I used a dog dish (need a low edge bowl to fit under washer), tipped washer forward, then back and just kept emptying the dish.

Saw another post said don't tip washer back. There is something on backside of washer that you could break if you tip backwards. So, if you tip forward i guess you won't break anything--i haven't...yet.

Noticed a musty smell lately, and also had gray streaks on my clothes. Think the standing water that wouldnt' drain out has been my issue for some time now and when the motor burned out, I finally had to research the other issues.
