Water leaks from the ice maker continuously into the ice receptacle bin and then beyond - all then freezes. The ice maker does make ice cubes but it appears that the water tray where ice forms continues to receive water and overflows - continuously drip by drip. The problem started with otherwise apparently normal operation without any known alterations, damage, etc.

The water inlet valve may be staying open. It's on the back where the water supply is connected. You
can swap the wires on the dual water inlet valve and disconnect the water line
at the valve which goes to the ice maker. When you try the water dispenser the
water will come out there. When you stop the water dispenser, if the water at
the valve doesn't stop, the valve isn't closing so you'll need to replace it.
Testimonial: "thanks for your response - it is greatly appreciated. I tried the dual inlet valves as you suggested - switching electrical connectors and checking output, etc. The valves seem tight no drips or running water after being de-energized. The water drip inside the refrigerator is at the level of the ice maker and the drips appear between the ice maker tray and the control box on the left side. Could the tray be receiving to much water? The drip does seem to be continuous however. "

If it overfills and drips, look for an
adjustment behind the plastic endcover with a +/- on it. - is less water.
If it continuously drips, replace the water
inlet valve on the back where the house water supply comes in.

If this is an LG--its a known design issue... they suggest turning your water pressure down... the tray is not only being over filled but the water overshoots the tray. If its under warranty they will replace the ice maker with a new one (LG LSC series)... otherwise you see if the water tube is too long. Mine needed to be cut back about a 1/3 of an inch... and I turned down the water pressure from the feed. Note I also have ice building up in the tube--read that the water valve needs to be replaced but others have said replacing it doesn't solve the issue... but am going to try anyway.
