When i format usb 4gb kingston the computer says the memory card is write-protected.please release the write protect switch.this is my problem plz solve my problem what can i do sir.

There should be a small switch on the usb drive somewhere. You should be able to flip that switch and it takes it out of write-protection mode. I cant tell you where exactly because it is different depending on the brand. Some do not even have one, but if you are told it is write protected, then it should be a switch on it!

Type CMD
Press Enter
Type CHKDSK q: /F
where 'q:' is the drive-letter assigned by Windows to your Kingston.
Press Enter.
When "check-disk" has completed, Windows will remote the "write-protect".

Usb is write protect

its the u3 program. u can delete all partitions in disk management, then recreate. that removes U3 function tho

the drive isnt write protected the usbport or the connection is loose so that the computer is showing the drive as read only drive also you can format it using command and also setting off the read only attribute that may have been put by a virus also softwares like usbcillin makes pen drive writeprotected take care

my multi-card (SD) kingston 2 GB is unable to copy , delete and format. It is always say that your multi-card is write-protect. I try to delete some file on it. It is able to delete but i reconnect to my PC,it shows my previous deleting files. why? If you have time , help me please.
