My HP Pavilion dv2214us came installed with Vista. I recently changed to Fedora12. After successfully using the wireless for about 3-4weeks, my wireless is telling me the wireless is disabled. How do I get it enabled (if possible)? If it is not possible, how do I go about getting/installing a new wireless card?

did you go into the bios and change the boot order to boot to the cd rom first? Then it should boot to the disc. Otherwise you may want to use any xp/vista disc do the install dont insert a cd key then once windows boots up then put the disc in and try a recovery.

There is no Windows 7 driver listed for your machine. Some have had success installing the Vista audio driver. A link to that driver is listed below.

remove battery
remove power plug
look for the screws with the picture of a cylinder underneath the system. unscrew them and the drive slides out.

well first check what is the mother board model used in the laptop and then log on to the web site of that particular company and you can find key words like downloads, support, driver software's so by this way you can get the required drivers for the motherboard you are using.

Try removing the battery and running from the AC power supply only. If this works, your battery probably can no longer hold a charge and the battery will need to be replaced.

Removing the battery allows the power supply to power your laptop rather than trying to charge a dead battery

Hi there.
If your using Vista or XP, what i want you to do is right click "computer" select "manage" and then "device manager", then click on the + sign next to "network adapters" and right click on the wireless network and "un-install" the device, reboot the PC and wait for windows to detect the wireless card and install the drivers for it, this will appear in the system tray (bottom right hand side) when its done try to connect again

Go to www.hp.com WEB site, then to their support/download page
Search for the network driver for you model laptop. Download and install the network driver.

Go start run then type DXDIAG and let me know for system models and i will find right driver for you!

There appear to be three models of this machine -- if you can determine which one you have this link should leave you two clicks from the XP drivers for your machine.
