BOUGHT NEW LAMP, REPLACED IT, TV WORKED THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN SHUT DOWN. TOOK OUT REPLACED AGAIN, LISTENED CLOSE AND HEARD A SOUND LIKE A CD LADING IN THE COMPUTER. ANYWAY, STARTED AGAIN THEN LIGHT FLASHED SHUT DOWN AGAIN AND NEED LAMP LIGHT CAME BACK ON. IS IT POSSIBLE SOMETHING BLEW THE NEW LAMP THAT QUICKLY? PLEASE HELP. JB IN HOUSTON

I bought a new buld thinking it had gone i fitted it and turned it on and now the stand by light flashes red and green and you can hear a relay or something clicking inside

Hello when you replace the lamps make sure you fitted the lamp securely and make sure the lamps cover fitted securely aswell

My KDS-R50XBR1 will power on with picture for approx 1 second with the power light in green, then shut down automatically and the lamp light blinks 4 times. Is this a bad lamp only? Thanks! Mike A.

If Lamp light blinks then it is lamp that is near to end of its working life.
If standby light is blinking then it is some thing else, when did you replaced lamp in tv last time?

Installed new lamp ..tv turns on then shuts off standby light flashes for a few seconds then tv turns on then shuts off again
did you replace the all three lamp the red,green and blue lamp?if not what color of lamp did you replace?try to dis connect the lamp that you installed then power the tv again if it work there might be a problem on your compatibility of lamp u use..or you can replace the convergeance ic there are two big ic in there sometimes labelled STK replace them...hope this could help..good luck!!

The Power/Standby flashes green but doesn't to to a solid green and the picture won't pop up; then the Lamp flashes red?
Replace you Lamp. If its been two years since you purchased the unit, then its time for a new lamp. The lamps are only good for about two some times more years.

Replaced lamp still wont turn on
If the STANDBY light flashes three times in sequence, the lamp cover is not securely attached. Reattach the lamp cover to resolve this issue.

NOTE: You may have to replace the lamp also if the issue persists.

Sony KDF-E50A10 stays on for 15-20 minutes then shuts off power standby light flashes green and turns back on. Replaced bulb about 6 months ago with sony bulb. Any ideas. Thanks
The reason this happens the most is because of the lamp being weak. I have not seen anything else cause this problem. You can varify this by turning the set off and wait until it shuts down totally.
with the Sony remote, press the display button, the #5 button,
volume down button, then power button. This puts you into the the factory error code mode. If you see the lamp code with multiple errors and no other errors shown, the lamp is the problem.
Most of Sonys lamps have a aprox life of 3000 hrs. Some last longer and some shorter.

No Picture or sound
The lamp cover door was not secured tightly. Door does not "push" shut easily. Got a little rough with it and latched it shut, then the tv worked fine.

Standby light flashes 3 times
A 3 flash pattern indicates that either the lamp is not seated correctly or that the lamp door is not latched properly. It can also be a fault with the switches that sense whether the lamp is seated or the door is latched. Try reseating the lamp and relatching the lamp door

Intermittent lamp turn off
I was told by the repair service to unplug the power cord for about 5min. This resets the internal computer. I think this helps but does not cure the cause. Good luck.

SONY GRAND WEGA
I have a KDF60XS955. When I power it on, the fan comes on, the standby light flashes green several times, the lamp comes on and the standby light goes to solid green. This lasts for less than 5 seconds then the lamp goes out, followed by ~30 green standby flashes, the lamp coming on with the solid green standby light for about 5 seconds then shuts off the lamp again. I can hear/feel the fan running the enitre time. This cycle continues endlessly. Please help!
