Make sure the drain hose is not pushed too far down the drain pipe. It could cause a siphon effect and drain the tub.

Make sure the drain hose is not tight in the drain pipe. It should fit loose so as not to trap the air which can also cause a siphon effect.

SOURCE: Washing machine keeps draining during rinse

You may be experiencing a condition known as "siphoning". This is caused by the drain hose not being high enough off the floor, or not having a proper air gap at the standpipe in order to drain properly. This creates a suction and the washer will constantly drain as it tries to fill. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3575830-how_to_prevent_washer_siphoning

In the majority of the cases, this problem is attributed to improper installation, rather than an actual problem with the washer. If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: My Kenmore Series 90 Washing Machine water will not stop filling.

This problem is commonly attributed to either a water inlet valve that doesn't shut off, or a pressure switch malfunction. The following links explain how to diagnose the problem and repair as necessary:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3753517-whirlpool_top_load_washer_fills_when_not

If the washer is not overflowing, the likely problem is the water inlet valve. If the washer fills to the point where it overflows, the easiest and most common cause of this problem is the small plastic air hose on the pressure switch coming loose. It can usually be fixed by simply reattaching the hose. However, read through all the information provided and double check everything to make sure.

How to clean Kenmore Elite sm 9711174 washing machine

To clean your Kenmore Elite SM 9711174 washing machine, you can follow these steps:
1. Clean the exterior of the machine: Wipe down the exterior of the washing machine with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Be sure to dry it thoroughly to prevent any water damage.
2. Clean the drum: Mix a solution of 1/4 cup of baking soda and 1/4 cup of water and pour it into the detergent dispenser. Run the machine on the hottest and longest cycle with an extra rinse. This will help to remove any built-up detergent residue or mildew from the drum.
3. Clean the detergent dispenser: Remove the detergent dispenser and soak it in warm, soapy water for 10-15 minutes. Use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away any buildup or debris, and rinse it thoroughly before replacing it.
4. Clean the lint filter: The lint filter is located near the bottom of the machine. Remove it and rinse it under running water to remove any lint or debris. If the filter is particularly dirty, soak it in warm, soapy water for a few minutes before rinsing it.
5. Run a cleaning cycle: Some washing machines have a self-cleaning cycle that you can use to help remove any buildup or mildew. Check the user manual for instructions on how to run a cleaning cycle on your specific machine.

By following these steps, you should be able to clean your Kenmore Elite SM 9711174 washing machine and keep it running smoothly.

Kenmore stackable washer/drier. Water doesn't drain out.

Kenmore stackable washer dryer doesn't cycle (doesn't advance to water fill or wash, drain, rinse, spin) (not spinning, draining, filling?) After the video, we learned it was the points in the timer. It wasn't the black "electrical plug", being plugged into. Get your serial number and google Kenmore timer and you can order a replacement timer. Even if you still have someone come out, you've still saved a bunch!.......ps....I had a viewer make a good point!; I obviously didn't have any issues, but obviously be careful with electrical panel and any loose wires!

Cold water won't stop before rinse cycle

if it fails to stop running only at the rinse part of the cycle it is probably in the timer as the solenoid valve has to cut the water off when the washer fills for the wash cycle too. fills for wash cycle and cuts off water, washes and drains, refills for rinse cycle and water just keeps running? does this every time you run it? that's in the timer. bad solenoid (water inlet valve) would keep running even on wash fill up. hope this helps.

MAYTAG STACKABLE FILLS WITH WATER BUT DOES NOTHING ELSE

Rhonda, could be the safety interlock switch that is tripped when you open the top. The machine will fill with the top open, but will not run in wash or spin cycles. I would start there.

My kenmore 27 wide laundry center will not fill on rinse cycle! the water runs, but does not fill??????

If water is entering the tub on rinse and running out, the drain line is too low or siphoning the water out.
If it is not entering the machine the cold water inlet valve has trash in the screen and must be cleaned.
A test is choose COLD FILL and turn the machine on for regular wash. If no water enters, turn off the water supply and remove the hoses from the machine. Look inside the cold fill connection and clean the screen.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!

Kenmore washer overflows during rinse cycle.

SOME OF THESE MACHINES HAVE TWO PRESSURE SWITCHES IN THEM, ONE FOR THE MAIN WASH WATER LEVEL AND ONE FOR THE RINSE WATER LEVEL. CHECK FOR A PLUGGED AIR PRESSURE HOSE FIRST AND THEN CHECK THE PRESSURE SWITCHES.

Stackable kenmore model 41794702300

We have had that happen too. You will need to take out what ever has blocked the valve on the drain. Ours was a bobby pin! My model is a bit different but if you follow the drain hose underneath you can find it. Remember you are dealing with lots of water. I think I scooped out the water first and have some towels ready. Or hire somebody to do it for you. I hope that helps.
