this will differ depending on which bios you have Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS Restart your computer During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or the F2 key Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the using arrow key scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system (note after you have loaded the operating system you should go back and change the first boot device to your failsafe or optimized defaults) after windows has loaded your computer will automatically restart it might restart 2 times one to finish the installation the next will be because the operating system is loaded and will boot from your cd during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart otherwise it will keep booting from the cd /dvd drive

If the cd rom is not being detected ?

Click start control panel administration tools computer management device manager scroll down cd-dvd rom drives you might see a yellow question /exclamation mark ? ! or a red X right click to update driver You might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd/dvd computer then plug them back in restart your this should activate the found new hardware wizard. If this does not fix the problem it might be a registry problem "you only need to do the following" if you cant see your disk drive in windows explorer Close all open programs Click on Start, Run, and type regedit and press Enter Click on the plus signs (+) next to the following folders HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet Control Class {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} This folder is the DVD/CD-ROM Drive Class Description in the registry. Look for any of the following names in the right hand column. Upper Filters Lower Filters Upper Filters.bak Lower Filters.bak If any of the above keys shown in step 4 are listed, right-click on them and choose Delete

After deleting the keys, close the registry editor
Reboot your computer
Open My Computer and check to see if your CD or DVD drives have returned. You may also want to open Device Manager and verify that the yellow exclamation and error code on the CD or DVD drive is gone.

Restart your computer

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart

this will set the boot order

Your Windows installation has become corrupted.

You need to repair the Windows Installation with the aid of the Original Windows Disk. It is a tricky business, a computer technician will be able to do it for you if you get stuck.

Blue Screen system error. If you've been running windows Xp, please do the following:
1. Insert Windows XP CD in the Pc.
2. Restart the PC and while in Bios, go to Boot Priority and select Boot from CD as your first priority.
3. Save and exit.
4. The PC restarts and follow the instructions on the screen. (Press any key to boot from the CD).
5.After system has finished, such will happen <Enter-To Continue R-Repair ESC-Cancel>.
6. Choose R to repair.
7. A black screen pops up, just read and type 1 and wait for the next step (password).
8. Put in your Admin Password or press "Enter".
9. Then type CHKDSK and press "Enter".
10. the system will repair the errors within the HDD and windows and later restart the PC. Good luck
