XL Error, subsystem KERNEL Error:IllegalTag Operator: 0x1b Postion: 709. Prints first page but not second page. Light on printer blinks as though it's going to print but never does. When I cancel the que, it prints out page with above message.

PCL XL error pages that print from an HP LaserJet 1200, 1300, 2200, 2300, 3200 or 3300 series product when a PCL 6 printer driver is in use typically indicate a communication issue. Sometimes this issue is caused by an incompatibility between the Enhanced XL language and the software application.

The short answer is that the PCL XL interpreter has picked up the use of the "Escape Code" (0x1B) in the incoming datastream. This command is used for the standard versions of PCL, most notable PCL 5e. It is not used in the PCL XL datastream.

Try updating the printers firmware.

If the problem remains, try replacing the driver with a PostScript-driver. That should help you out.

Please uninstall the current PCL driver and upgrade the same with UPD PCL5 (dont install PCL6) from http://www.hp.com/go/upd

It is a driver error, try another printer driver version or use PCL 5 rather then PCL 6 driver,

Check your USB cable it must be HighSpeed or USB 2 cable.
