It seems that either the drivers are not installed for this printer or the printer has not been selected in the word processor. First insert the CD that came with the printer in the drive and install the driver for this printer. reboot. and connect the printer and allow Windows to detect it and load its drivers. Now second, open the document that you want printed in a word processor and give the print command. Here you will find an option on which printer to print on. Select this printer and get the prints.

When i print something the printer acts as if its printing something but the paper ends up completely blank

For a start, here is the manual online you can download if you would need to or do not have one.

http://www.retrevo.com/d/ds/progress?doc=57b90255a3effa7517d400841a329ae7&rk=0.7564768900865393

I read through the Troubleshooting section and did not see anything that was directly related to that particular problem. So I am going to suggest a few options to try out and hopefully this will correct your problem.
1) Turn off your printer and double check all your connections you may be using, USB or Ethernet cable, make sure they are properly connected and there are no problems with the wires themselves.
2) Turn your printer back on and verify that it is connected to you computer, and try to print out a test page
3) Double check your printer cartridges and make sure they are properly seated in place and that they are indeed full!

From there try and print something, be it a text document or something of that nature, and by now you should hopefully have something printed on your page

I connected my hp C5180 to my pc then printed a test page, it started to print and hasn't stopped. It just keep printing pages of code. How do I stop this???? Tried cancelling, tried turning off...

YOU NEED TO GO TO PRINTERS...AND CHANGE HOW PAGES YOU WANT TO PRINT...AND TAKE THE PAPER OUT OF PRINTER, SO IT DOESN'T USE UP ALL YOUR INK!

HOPE THIS HELPS!

Ink cartridge (not) installed properly

For the Canon iP1800 printer are you sure you're using the 30 for black and 31 for color?

And make sure they "click" when installed. That should confirm that they're nice and tight in their ink compartments.

Besides that, maybe reinstalling the printer drivers could do something?

Problems with printing

Make sure all cables are properly connected and not damaged. Try connecting it to a different port on your computer to make sure the port isn't at fault.

I suppose lights seem to be n"normal" on it? No flashing lights that may indicate problems or anything like that?
