Jul 14, 2017 - I have the same issue. Almost new machine. Screen says "clear carriage jam", but there's no paper jammed in there. Can't do anything with the printer, since ...
When you turn off the printer unplug it from power and the computer for a few minutes. Plug only the power back in and turn it on. Also consult the manual to find out how to "reset" your printer.
Try this: first shut it off, second disconnect USB cable third unplug power cord from back of printer, fourth unplug power cord from wall (or power strip), wait 15 minutes. Then reconnect everything in reverse order and see if that solves it.
Hi, most of the HP printers will detect the paper jam and will provide you with help window automatically to rectify the problem. If paper gets jammed, just remove it from backside and then turn off the printer and power it on. cancel any pending printing documents. Everything have to become normal. If it not, try restarting your system too. I hope its helpful to you
This may be caused by a dirty sensor. Disconnect power supply, open the printer and clean everything. You may use toilet paper. Be careful not to leave fragments of toilet paper inside the printer.
I cleared the paper jam but i am still getting a paper jam message. I checked thoroughly and dont see any pieces of paper anywhere. I press ok and still get paper jam message. I turned the priner off and on serveral times and that did not work. Same message. I am feeling very frustrated. Its been a week today. Help!
I was having same problem but it was a paper jam all the time and then it started to state Cairrage Jam. And what was happening was the unit the cartridges sit in was not going all the way to the right. A little nudge and you could feel it move. Closed lid and sometimes it would print but eventually it would fail. Just replaced but I suspect if you can get to the cairrage you could clean/repair whatever was keeping it from going all the way to the right.
