When i open Firefox or any window for that matter, on my HP Pavilion dv2 notebook, the tab for it on my destop startbar is all the way to the right, and when i open multiple windows it acts as though the bar only has room for 2 windows before it converts to the arrows on the side which allow you to cycle through bar 'pages'. This happens when 3 or more windows are open when it used to be that i could open 10+ without anything like this happening, how do i fix it back to normal?

Then you might want to reinstall your OS. don't worry, this won't delete your files, it's just like reinstalling a program on your computer

you need an operating system (or OS) Disc. you could order one from Microsoft (if it's Windows-based: XP, Vista, 7,etc..) and only pay shipping, or bring your laptop to a store that sells your OS (i reccomend best buy) and let them do it for you. in either scenario, you need your original proof of purchase. otherwise they'll charge you for a new copy of the OS.

of course there is also the solution to adapt to the changes if you dont want to go through the trouble... ^_^!

When the windows taskbar is set to "Group similar taskbar buttons" then your PC/Laptop starts stacking them after 3 or four windows are opened. to resolve this do the following:

Hp pavilion dv2-1030us 12.1 heats and switch off

If you are handy and careful, remove the battery and all the covers from the bottom. See if you can locate the fan and vacuum all the dust that is in it. The dust impairs the flow of air to cool the processor. Also, if you have a bad battery it will overheat.

If it sometimes comes on the motherboard probably has a hairline crack on the printed circuit board result from the previous fall that was over looked.

Sorry to disturb You but i have got HP Pavilion dv2 1033cl and after upgrate drivers my web camera does not work i can not find driver for it help me please

Hello.

You are not disturbing us. We're here to help.

Boot your system to Safe Mode (press F8 repeatedly when powering on). Go to System Restore and choose a date when your system worked OK, before upgrading the web drivers. Note: with System Restore, all your updates will roll back to that date. Follow the process.

Hope this helps.

Scroll bar not working all of the sudden. I use firefox and has never been an issue for my pavilion before. I did use a public wi-fi at a hospital briefly and had to use IE because firefox never works in...

First, lets make sure that scrolling is still enabled. Look in the bottom right of the taskbar and see if your synaptics icon for the touchpad properties is there. It will either look like the touchpad or it will be a red icon in the shape of a tear drop. If it is there, right click on it and scroll to properties. If it is not there, go to the control panel and click on mouse properties. When the mouse properties window opens, look on the top right hand side and look for the tab marked device properties, click on this tab...this is for the touchpad settings and controls. When this window opens, look in the left hand pane and scroll down to "scrolling", see if the box is checked to enable scrolling....if it is checked, uncheck it, hit apply, then check it again and hit apply again, click ok and exit. Now, if you do not see any of the above and all you see is mouse settings, then the driver for the touchpad has been corrupt and you will need to go to HP support drivers and download a new driver for the touchpad. Go to the link below and put in the model number of your laptop, then in the next window pick your operating system, now, scroll down and find the touchpad driver listed. Download it into a folder on your deskyop, open the file and run it, it will install a fresh driver. Reboot the laptop and all settings will be on by default.

Ok this is odd. I have a dv2-1030 and every time i put a harddrive in new or use i still get operating system not found. I have tryied installing a new os with no luck because it says there is no drive...

Yes the connector can go bad..

Did you try booting from CD? useing a windows cd?

The cmos may not be setup right, when you first turn it on look for [push f1 to enter setup] maybe f2,

Some time when you unplug a hard drive then turn the computer on it will disable it in cmos
