Monitor screen begins as computer is booting up and then screen goes black. Message says there is no signal.
If the power light dims or changes color after the no signal message comes up, that means the monitor went to sleep.
While the monitor is plugged in and on and the computer is also on, Try unplugging the VGA cable from the monitor. wait 30 seconds and then plug it back in o see if the power button light comes back to normal color and the screen flashes on.
If not, then the monitor is not getting a signal from the computer.
If using a desktop computer,Try a different cord or try the monitor on another computer.
If using a laptop, you need to activate the laptop to use an external monitor. That can be done through the display settings, OR, most laptops have a shortcut key feature which usually involves pushing the Fn key and one of the F keys at the same time. The F key may say CRT/lcd or have a picture of a monitor and a screen.
If the power light does light back up and still no picture, There may be an internal issue on the monitor
Also note that I'm not absolutely great with technology. I can understand the general stuff, and the complex some if it is explained well.
Alright. Thanks for the info, but how do I get the connection or the network working again?
