Removing back panel of a viewsonic monitor

There are almost always plastic clips along with the screws. I'd recommend buying a plastic pry bar. You can google for them online and they cost $1 or so.

Pink lines

Hello,Unfortunately, the lcd panel is toast. Check with the manufacturer and see if you are still in warranty. If so, they will fix it free of charge. If not, then you may be able to find a replacement lcd panel from a third party source. I have ordered from laptopscreen.com before with no problems. They may be able to assist with this. If all else fails, then just replace the monitor with a new one.Hope this helps!Joe

You will need to adjust your monitor settings in the NVidia control panel. You can get to this by right clicking somewhere in a blank spot on your desktop and then selecting it from the menu. You will want to go into the Display section. If you aren't able to see that section, change from "Standard" to "Advanced" settings at the top of the screen.

Viewsonic VG2230WM....I have replaced both

Hello,

You have one of two things wrong. One the new power supply board may be bad, we have seen quite a few power supply boards purchased on Ebay that are just as bad as the ones people are trying to replace. They send them to us for repair along with the original board and both have bad capacitors installed. Many of these boards are coming in from PC recyclers that are just striping monitors for parts and not rebuilding the boards before the sell them. Check the tops of the capacitors for bulges if you find any them the board is bad.

If the board is in fact good then the cause is bad florescent back light bulbs in the display panel. When the fail they pull to much current trying to light up and this trips the over current circuit in the power supply board which shuts the power supply down to prevent damage and this turns off the display. The bulbs can be d but this will be a very involved project. You can do a Google search for instruction on this process but keep in mind this bulbs are very fragile and thin, easy to break.

I hope this helps. If you have any questions just reply to this answer.

Vg2230wm monitor Will not power on

probably your power supply. Is it a cord direct from plug in for is there a box between where you plug it in and then a small round end that goes into the monitor. This would be the good news. If it plugs in direct then that means the power sopply is in the monitor itself which means more expensive to fix

Power light is on, but

I take it you are talking about the monitor menus. If this is the case, suspect a bad monitor. Try another monitor to see if it works. That will tell you for sure.
