Is this a dirt devil. First and foremost these things ****! secondly the wheels have to be snapped in underneath the piece that covers the belt. even when that is done the wheels will force the vacuum to low and stress the belt so much that it breaks! See my other suggestion on how to remedy this!

Need belt 38528- brush belt

belts will stretch when they slip. There no adjustments on beater-bars. The way to prevent this is to have a height adjustment to be high on high pile and low for low pile rugs.

How do i change belt on my hoover sweeper

get a fillipshead screwdriver, put the vacuum facing you so the brush is infront of you, you will see 4 screws on each corner.unscrew those and when you do there will be a space where you will see a shaft that points out. take the old belt off and put one part of the new belt on the shaft and the other part on the brush near the belt. (there will be a little brown part on the brush for the belt to lay on) make sure its secure and screw the screws back and your ready to go !

Kirby generation3 instructions,

Hi there!

If you are talking about the main sweeper attatchment, Lift the light at the front of the upright machine, Make sure the belt inside the sweeper it is over the hook when you turn the handle on the front anti-clockwise to "belt off". Turning handle raises belt.
The hooks at the bottom of sweeper go over the bar at the base of the body. It helps to lift the wheels slightly.
When hooked on, rotate handle clockwise to "belt on" and close the light cover.

Is this solves the problem , please take a moment to rate as Fixya! If you need more help, just ask again on this question.
Thank you.

the above link shows you how to change the belt on the g-series kirbys but it will apply to the heritage edition as well...the only difference is the color...some of the arrows may be missing on the front belt lifter knob...but they are little differences...
