The DV-1000 can only be upgrades to 2Gb of RAM - DDR SDRAM (2700)
You will need two 1Gb memory modules.

You can upgrade to 2Gb ram. I dont think your notebook will support 4Gb ram. A 2Gb Transcend ram will cost you around 1500 bucks INR

Hello, I was looking to upgrade the ram in my old dell 5150. The specs say you can use a Max of 4 1 gig sticks yet these specs where released prior to windows 7 ultimate which uses far more ram. What are...

Check www.crucial.com. Use the downloadable program to analyze your system or use the interactive menu system to explore your options.

Check online forums using google searches for terms like 'dell 5150 memory upgrade'. Sometimes, the maximum in the manual is not the real maximum. My Dimension 1000 laptop accepted a certain 1 GB card when the manual said the max was 256MB. Still running it after nearly ten years. The laptop was **** with 512MB (256 built-in and 256 add-on card) but the gf uses it every day.

What is the maximum memory capacity for the MX6027 model ?

Hello Marc,

The maximum is 1 GB. Standard, it comes installed with 256 MB but you upgrade with additional 256 MB or 512 MB memory modules. The modules you are looking for are:

256 MB DDR (1 x 256 MB) SODIMM (PC2700) 2.5v SYNC
512 MB DDR (1 x 256 MB) SODIMM (PC2700) 2.5v SYNC

There are lots of places on the web to find decent prices for this memory. I have included a few below.

http://www.memorystock.com/memory/GatewayMX6027.html

http://www.pcmemorystore.com/Gateway-M_Series_Notebooks-MX6027-ram.htm

http://www.computermemoryoutlet.com/Gateway-M_Series_Notebooks-MX6030-memory.htm

This document includes instructions for replacing the memory. It's a simple straightforward process.

Hope this helps.

Have a blessed day.

I have a Easy Note M5 280DW and would like to know if I can upgrade the RAM?

Standard Memory 256 (256MB x1 Removable) Maximum Memory 1 GB The standard memory of your system is 256 Mbytes and the maximum memory it supports is 1 Gbytes.
So you can either upgrade the RAM by adding 1 stick of 256 Mbytes (for a total of 512 MB) or buy two sticks of 512 Mbytes each (for a total and maximum memory of 1 Gbytes).
You are looking for PC2700 DDR Memory.
In any case, check the memory you have installed.
You can download a free utility like CPUZ that will give your information about your system, including the number of memory slots available and used and the memory (amount and type) installed: http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz/cpuz_152_setup.exe

RAM

your laptop has:
PCs built for Windows XP normally can handle 1 GB to 2 GB of memory.
PCs built for Windows Vista normally can handle 2 GB to 4 GB of memory.

This is what you need and the pricing is there too.
