WATER ALWAYS REMAINS IN THE MAYTAG NEPTUNE DRUM AFTER WASH CYCLE
Can you see water in the tub, or do you hear water when you turn the tub? if you hear water when the tub turns, it is not water. the stainless drum has a liquid inside it for balancing loads. if this is the case, there is no problem. but if you see water in the tub that didnt drain, you need to check the pump and the hose from the pump to the outer tub. look for restrictions (coins, tooth pick, nail, ect.). also check the pump impellers to make sure none of them are broke, there are three plastic impellers. if any are broke, replace the pump. hope this helps you. let me know if you have any further questions. shane

it is not recommended to soak cloths in the washer, that may be the odor your getting. you should also run a product called "afresh" through your washer. it can be bought at lows, home depot, ect. it helps eliminate odors in washers. as for your drain hose, a loop in it is ok, as long as the water is draining out. many people hear the water sound when turning the tub and think there is a problem, but like i mentioned, it is just the liquid in the tub. and it does sound like a lot. hope this helps you out. P.S. neptunes did have a big issue with mold on the door boot and musty smells, it will help if you dont soak your cloths. shane

Thank you for your speedy response. I do not see the water, but certainly hear it--lots of it! I wash almost daily, so I don't understand why my laundry never smells clean. As a matter of fact, it smells musty. I never overload my washer and I send all laundry through an extra rinse cycle, often adding vinegar. I also keep the door open when the washer is not in use. Nothing seems to help ): OK. your explanation of the balancing liquid makes sense, even to me. But why does my laundry smell so bad? I also, often, leave laundry in the tub overnight to soak. Could that be a problem? (The washer, itself, does not smell when there is no laundry soaking in it.) I did find both water hoses laying on the floor behind the washer, so I managed to get them in a vertical position up the back of the machine. Sorry to be so "wordy," but I'm a housewife and know nothing about stuff like that. Could it be that the dirty water is not draining like it should? And, if that's the case, how can I fix that? I appreciate your help.
do you see the water or just hear water when you turn the tub?
