SOURCE: Ice maker not working

I recently had trouble with both my water dispenser and my ice maker. I determined that my filter was clogged, so I replaced it. That fixed the water dispenser but the ice maker still wasn't working. I investigated further and found that the water inlet tube was frozen solid. Aparently, when the filter was clogged the water came in so slowly that it froze before it got to the icetray. I tried pouring hot water over the inlet tube to melt it and it mostly worked, but there was still some ice in the tube further back where I couldn't reach. Finally I defrosted the freezer so all the ice could melt and turned it back on and now it works great! Hope this might help.

SOURCE: Defrost Heater or Main Control Board, Which one is at fault?

Normal 0 false false false MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} To answer your question I know of no reason the electronic type of board would cause the heater to go out unless the defrost thermostat (or sensor) and board stuck in the defrost possession and did not stop the heater. Any time you replace the board and have had a defrost problem a check of the heater will either confirm or eliminate it but the defrost sensor should be replaced if the board is being blamed for non defrost. I cant rule out 100% that a bad board will not cause a heater problem but the high 99% range is most likely. If you have a volt ohm meter and can find the heater circuit on your board and the freezer has been running down to correct temp you can check the defrost circuit by ohming it out. Lower resistance of 10 to 60 ohms is common. Anything higher will require ohming the heater out directly and the defrost thermostat will be open if the temperature is above the stats range.

Common to all self defrosting refrigerators / freezers is the need to move air around to pickup heat inside the compartment. Common to all frost free refrigeration to maintain this feature are 3 items:
1 and initiator (defrost timer or circuit board),
2 A heat source for defrost (Usually an electric heat element but can be other types of heat sources)
3 A safety limit to stop the heat source, leaving it warm enough to defrost and keep the heat contained where it will not affect the compartment advisedly. In a standard type defrost (non - electronic) it is called a thermostat. In an electronic board defrost it is called a sensor.

The defrost timer / or board will never be in the Freezer. Other than that it could be in the refrigerator section behind a plastic cover or metal cover on the back outside. It could also be under Neath the front corners or center of the front kick plate.

A timer you can turn the cam clock wise till it clicks. A board will depend on the manufacturer as to how to send into defrost for a test. A sensor on the defrost type board may be required to by-pass into defrost or test mode.

The freezer section has the only cooling coil. It sounds like it is blocked with frost and thus won’t let the air circulate from freezer to refrigerator.

There is a defrost timer, (or board), a defrost heater, and a defrost safety thermostat. Any One of these or a combination of 2 can be your problem. If you have a energy efficient model that has electronic controls then you will have a board. The procedures for checking the circuit on a board vary by manufacturer of the board used and manufacturer of the appliance.

The defrost heater always has resistance and is attached to the freezer coil.
The defrost thermostat is also attached to the heater electrically, unless it is an electronic sensor type. Sensor types have a range of resistance that needs to be known to check and varies slightly with the temperature of the sensor.

If I haven't lost you here you maybe equipped with the life experiences that will allow you to do most of these checks. If its over your understanding I recommend you contact a reliable technician..

I have an LG fridge display giving me ER F1 code. i can unplug the fridge and plug it back in and the display resets for about 2 minutes and the the code comes back?

The ER 1F code usually means that there is a problem with the ice compartment fan, the ice maker motor or one of the control boards (the one for the ice maker or the main control unit). You can try resetting the refrigerator by leaving it unplugged for a day. Next check for ice build up on the fan that is blocking it from turning. Usually, if the fan hasn't been turning, you will have to at minimum replace the motor. It will burn out trying to force the fan to turn.

Sears Parts Direct has a diagram of the LFX23961SW case parts here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/lg-refrigerator-parts/model-LFX23961SW/3204/0161000/K0810254/00001.html . The fan motor is part 405G.

I hope this helps.

5y CE code on frigidaire refrigerator water/ice dispenser

Dear Sue,
  • SY CE Error Codes is a very common issue : the display board isn't communicating with the main PCB.
  • Unfortunately, there is no way to test which board is causing the problem. That's why this error can be costly.
  • Try to just unplug the refrigerator for 15 minutes and plug it back in to see if the error goes away.
  • If the issue doesn't go away, then you'll need to replace one or two boards.
  • Usually the Main Control Board under the refrigerator behind the kick panel is the part that tends to fail.
  • If you Change the Main Board, it does not work; you gonna have to replace the Display Board.
  • Try buying these board at an online store that accept Returns without conditions up to a year. Go online and put the boards number into any major search engine. Put the # one by one. You will find many sellers. Carefully pick one and do you homework
Good luck and keep me posted please,

I want solution for my c1 (phone ristricted code)

You can get the restriction code for your Nokia C1-00 either from your network provider or from any reliable online source. For example you can get the unlock code for a Nokia C1-00 from www.superunlockcodes.com/nokia-c1-00/rs12wp9/ at low cost.
Here are the steps for unlocking a Nokia C1-00,
1 - Switch on your Nokia C1-00 without any sim card.
2 - Don't bother as to what is displayed on your Nokia C1-00.
3 - Compose #pw+CODE+1#.
4 - The Nokia C1-00 would then display the message "SIM Restriction Off" and will be unlocked!

Control Pad displays Er CO.

The Er Co error code signifies a communication error between the display control board on the freezer door and the main power board on the outer back panel of the refrigerator.

Check the wiring and connections between the low voltage interface and the main high voltage board.

If you are able to unplug the refrigerator and remove the cover over the control board on the back of the refrigerator,
you can check the wiring connection on the main control board.

If this wiring connection is okay, check the wire harness connection under the hinge cover on the top of the left hand refrigerator door.
If these connections are okay, then you will need access the wire harness connection in the dispenser.

We have a french door botom freezer maytag w/ and electronic water/ice dispenser. Model #mfi2568ae In the middle of the night the ice dispenser started opening and closing by itself and the led display is...

Don't be duped into thinking the display/dispenser board is the culprit. It may come a surprise, but this failure is often misdiagnosed. Because the dispenser is causing such a ruckus or because the display itself is blank or flickering, folks are led to believe that the display control board itself is the part that has failed. Looking at the history of our board evaluations, this little tiny control board rarely fails. And as crazy as it may seem, it is the main control board, aka the high voltage control of the fridge that is causing your refrigerator not to cool and the dispenser to be erratic.... This is the main control board of the refrigerator, located on the back of the unit. I've attached photos of what this main control board looks like. This main control board will need to be repaired to replaced.
