Sony Wega Trinitron HDTV Blue Screen with Sound

I've had my Sony Wega Trinitron KD-34XBR970 HDTV for about 2 years now. It only has one HDMI input so we've got the HDMI cable hooked up from the TV to the Time Warner cable box and have been watching our HDTV on the video input 6, but can also watch TV, although it's not HD, on the input 3, which the Best Buy guys set up for video. Suddenly yesterday we're getting a full blue screen on the input 6 for our HD but can still hear the sound, and also still have both TV sound and picture on the input 3 for video. I'm hoping it's just the HDMI cable gone bad bt would like to get some advice before we invest in a new one. Any thoughts? Thanks.

Sorry, I swapped out the HDMI cable but that didn't work. I wound up calling the cable company and they walked me through resetting the cable box, which seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for replying though.

If by "server" you meant the cable box, tech support walked me through a reset and that did the trick. Thanks for replying.

It means the TV does not receive signal from the box. Try the follow step to isolate the problem.
Use the same HDMI cable from cable box and hook up to another TV that has HDMI input (if any). If it works fine (picture and sound), HDMI cable no problem. If it does not, problem might come either from the cable box or HDMI. You may have to buy another one. If it still does not, call the cable box or the Best buy guy. Hope it helps.

Sony Wega KV-30HS420 input problem

Just reset the TV to its factory settings and check. To do this you have to enter its service mode option. How to enter the service mode option is described in one among the posts at the site linked here.
But, before doing this reset, just connect the HDMI cable to the TV, and input an HDMI signal to it. If there is no input signal, the set will display as 'no input'. Check this first. If you wish to get further assistance from me, come over by FiXya comment.

We have an 11 year old sony trinitron fv-32fs12 that is now getting a blue screen. I saw where there is a way to fix this using the remote control. Do you know how?

Blue screen means it's not getting a signal, so check your input setting. If it's set to TV and you're connected to a cable/satellite box then you probably have to put the set on channel 3 or 4. If you're set to AV1,2,3 etc make sure you have a good signal going to the input selected. I doubt that there's a problem with your TV.

I did a reset on my Sony WEGA TV but now it's not connect with the cable box. Just says no signal. Screen is all snow and no sound other than static.

you need to reprogram channels. Itll only pick up 3 if you are still using coaxial cable from box, or change input to DVI/HDMI, aux, etc.

I bought a 3 year old Sony FD Trinitron WEGA KV SW29M50 29 and it did not come with a manual question thereare 5 jacks above the video jacks what are they for i have surround sound speakers how do...

The inputs you refer to should be colored as follows.
Red
Blue
Green
Red
White
(not necessarily in this order)
These are what are called Component Video inputs and is one of the way that HD capable equipment connect to your television. It will not get true HD picture but this input will provide you with a crisper clearer picture.

Good Luck and Happy New Year.....
