I've had my Sony Wega Trinitron KD-34XBR970 HDTV for about 2 years now. It only has one HDMI input so we've got the HDMI cable hooked up from the TV to the Time Warner cable box and have been watching our HDTV on the video input 6, but can also watch TV, although it's not HD, on the input 3, which the Best Buy guys set up for video. Suddenly yesterday we're getting a full blue screen on the input 6 for our HD but can still hear the sound, and also still have both TV sound and picture on the input 3 for video. I'm hoping it's just the HDMI cable gone bad bt would like to get some advice before we invest in a new one. Any thoughts? Thanks.
It means the TV does not receive signal from the box. Try the follow step to isolate the problem.
Use the same HDMI cable from cable box and hook up to another TV that has HDMI input (if any). If it works fine (picture and sound), HDMI cable no problem. If it does not, problem might come either from the cable box or HDMI. You may have to buy another one. If it still does not, call the cable box or the Best buy guy. Hope it helps.

It's not the tv, It's the server.
Had similar problems with HD cable on dvd. swapping with another cable solved the problem.

Sorry, I swapped out the HDMI cable but that didn't work. I wound up calling the cable company and they walked me through resetting the cable box, which seems to have solved the problem. Thanks for replying though.
If by "server" you meant the cable box, tech support walked me through a reset and that did the trick. Thanks for replying.
