If not able to get dvd player and use options
Checking this model on the Sony site states that several apps no longer will work after 2015 onwards. If the TV is good what I did was to upgrade it by buying a smart box such as. An android TV box and costing about 50 dollars much cheaper than buying a new smart TV.

you cannot upgrade this set because you tube change her security para meters and cant upload in this set so this set is not compatible or YouTube.

It almost has to be the discs. Try them in a friends unit.
I had a similar problem with DVD's I burned and had printed labels and put the label on the discs. It caused the disc to be out of balance. I peeled them all off (what a job) and the discs play fine now. I'm now a "magic marker" person... :)
