SOURCE: how do i make the needle stop in the down position

You can't - it is only designed to always stop in the up position, then you can manually push the "needle down" button to make the needle go down while you turn a corner. The next model up the 4263 had the "stop down" option. Sorry.

My New Home MX3123 sewing machine needle moves from center to right rather than left to center. How do I fix it?

The instruction manual (https://www.manualslib.com/products/Janome-Myexcel-23x-Mx3123-3787947.html) page 23, "Infinite needle position," has one likely answer - you can shift the needle from center towards the left using the infinite needle position control. This can be used to center a zig-zag stitch in the presser foot - just move the needle position half the distance of the stitch width.

I have machine MX3123 New Home - I lowered the dog feet - but it won't allow me to free hand quilt - what pressure foot do I need

You need a darning foot or free motion foot. They are shorter than standard presser feet, so they do not set on the feed dogs but hover just above. The additional space allows you to manipulate the fabric without interference from the feed dogs. (Be sure to drop the feed dogs or cover them with the supplied cover plate--whichever your machine uses.)

My singer 4522C home sewing machine slows very slowly, even when I floor the pedal. It's also beginning to smoke. Any ideas what is wrong with it?

If the motor is smoking it may mean a new motor, if it kis the foot control you need to take the little square suppressor out.

Janome New Home mx3123 reverse button not working

1/28/13 - I have Janome Harmony 2049 that was initially sewing forward with no reverse and then after about 12 inches of sewing would ONLY sew in reverse. After spending an hour getting the plastic housing off...I was able to locate the shaft that made the reverse. It needed lubrication and after working it in and unjamming the part from the down position, the forward and reverse now work!
Huh, right? Hope it continues to work well. It is a smooth running machine, otherwise. Good luck!
