Search on youtube for “connecting rca tablet to wifi” to learn how to connect to wifi.
If you do not know your wifi SSID, mostly it is printed on a label on the wifi device, together with default password. To prevent being hacked it is best to login to the wifi device and change this password to one only you know.

I'll give you some help on ANDROID. Go to apps, settings\ WiFi. Turn it on at top of screen. Any available WiFi accounts will show up. Then go to top right push the three dots, click advanced and make your choices. Click back to WiFi screen and click the WiFi you want to connect with, enter the key that your WiFi needs to connect, or use the WPS option if available on you WiFi. If the WiFi has WPS, push the button on the WiFi and connect your tablet or phone by pressing connect.

It is not the Kobo that has set the password, rather the router for the wifi that you are trying to connect to. You just need to know the password for the router to let you connect. If a router has no wifi password, it is considered unsecured and ANYONE can access it. So most all routers use password protection. If it is YOUR wifi system, and you no longer know the password, you can change it if you access the router setup for wireless and change the password. Be advised, however, that all devices that connect to the wifi will need to change their passwords as well or not be connected. If it is not your wifi you are trying to connect to, then you need to obtain the wifi password from that wifi system's administrator.

if you are talking about wifi network tat comes in your laptop then,
you just need to click on that wifi network, it will prompt to ask enter wifi password, then enter password and click on connect button to connect on this WiFi network.

if you don't know the password of that WiFi, then you can not connect to this.

how are you tring to connect homw network or public wifi need to know more

First: Your WiFi password is located under the WiFi device.
Second: on the WiFi connection status (right bottom corner of your screen), click it and click on your WiFi name (SSID), key-in the password in the box.

without the password there is no way to connect to that wifi, the only wifi you can connect to without password will say unsecure

I have reseted the router configuration back to Factory Default, and set it up again from the beginning. I think the problem was at the firewall settings.
