Hello Bernard, your Pioneer AX-311, is a two-channel, stereo amplifier, you can connect your Samsung TV, if it has audio output L and R, to an input of the Pioneer, say for the AUX input, what will get, is to listen to the sound of the TV in your Pioneer, in stereo, two channels, you can not have surround sound, because your Pioneer does not have that benefit
At the most, you can hear the sound of Samsung on the TV and the amplifier simultaneously, and you will hear a sound delay between the Pioneer and the Samsung
I hope my answer was useful
Greetings Franco Dosil

Saludos Franco Dosil

SOURCE: direct tv hdbox & Plasma TV & DVD SSound system & DVD recorder

Need to make sure you have the red, white, and yellow rca connection cables ran from the samsung dvd player to the red, white, yellow input on the back of the dvd recorder. Once you do that make sure you put your dvd recorder on line 1 input. If you look closely on the back of your recorder it should say line 1 input. If your recorder isn't on that input you can put the recorder on line 1 input by using dvd recorder remote and pushing the input button. Make sure you don't push the tv input button the dvd recorder remote there should be a seperate input button or a way to toggle the inputs on the recorder. Once you verify all that turn on your tv and go to the input on your tv that you watch the dvd recorder on and you should see what your recording on the tv.

SOURCE: Hooking up surround sound

to get the digital you have to have the digital optical line or the coax rca jack digital audio connection from device to stereo reciever to get the dolby digital surround sound to work , otherwise you can only get a virtual surround sound from the reciever( no dolby digital )

SOURCE: best way to connect new system

After trying several ways, we decided the best picture was to run the blue ray (out) directly to the TV (in) with an HDMI and another HDMI from the sat. box(out) to TV(in), then optical audio from TV (out) to receiver (in). This way you don't have to change channels on the reciever when switching from TV to DVD. Remember that HDMI is one cable that supports audio and video. If you are using all Samsung products and want to use one remote, using the Anynet feature, I think it has to be connected with an HDMI. I'm going to try connecting an HDMI too from the reciever to the TV to see if this feature will work. It does with the Blue Ray.

SOURCE: pioneer vsx-519 no sound from center and surround

Make sure that the sound field/programme you have selected is dolby digital not stereo.(On the amp)
You also need to check on the display that is says DIGITAL not ANOLOUGE, as only a digital input, Optical fibre cable, HDMI, COAX will be a digital signal.
If you are using red and white rca connectors, it is not going to work, as this is an Anolouge signal.

Can't get surround sound sound through tv mode, have sound only when cable box mode is on. I've tried hooking optical cable straight from receiver to tv and I've also tried AV jacks. Not sure.

The audio signal that your tv is producing is a stereo signal only - not surround. You should be able to manually put your receiver into a surround mode when using the tv input and get surround sound that way.

How do I connect these two together so I hear it from my surround sound?

You'll need some type of amplifier to drive the speakers. The Samsung TVs mostly have a line out and a headphone out, but that wont drive speakers unless they are powered speakers like PC speakers or a powered sound bar. (Like the Pioneer SP-SB23W soundbar/subwoofer) If you have some of these get a mini 1/8" stereo plug to RCA plug adapter from BestBuy or similar. If you have PC type speakers, You'll need a 1/8" mini stereo patch cord to go from the line out to the speaker input. (Set the audio out on the TV to variable so you can control the volume with the TV volume.)

Hook mz506 surround sound to my Samsung tv

Typically surround sound is run through a receiver or stereo. The sound from the tv is carried to the receiver by cables (hdmi or Audio-Video connected to input area of receiver). Then the speakers are connected to the output area of the receiver.
If you are not using a receiver, then the speakers must be able to connect directly to the tv and you have to see what kind of cabling your tv supports.

Can i hook pioneer speakers from a system to my lg flat screen

Absolutely! To provide a better solution to your problem, however, you will need to provide model numbers of your TV and surround sound system. Depending on the available hookups and your hardware, you may need a received to make everything compatible.

We received the vsx d509s from our son, he hooked it up, and we were enjoying our surround sound in connection with our tv. However, when I hooked up the cd player, all the speakers worked fine, but now...

It is possible that you have switched it from a surround mode to stereo mode. Instructions on how to select a sound mode begin on page 36 of the manual, which can be viewed at the link below.

I want to know how to connect my lcd 32" tv to my new ht-c550 so that i can watch tv and listen to the sound of the tv through the surround system, what do i need to plug and where?

Not enough info here. But basically, the Audio Out from your TV (could be Toslink fiber-optic or Digital Coax or just Red and White Audio cables) go into the receiver's inputs (either TV, or Aux or whatever). If you just use the Red and White cables (stereo), you will not get true surround sound though. Just put your receiver on whichever one you hook it to (ie: Aux) and whatever sound is on the TV will come out the Stereo or Surround Sound. It's all a matter of hooking TV out to Stereo IN. Hope this helps; James

Can I use my Pioneer VSX-D412 receiver to hook up my surround system to my new Samsung HDTV?

Yes, both receiver and tv have optical/digital connectors, or alternatively, the S-video connector. The Pioneer will decode the compressed 5.1 signal coming from the tv unit.

I just bought a Blue Ray player but my surround sound has a dvd player built in and only one input which I have my new Sharp TV plugged into. How can I hook up my Blue Ray . I have the HDMI cables

Depending on if your surround system has a hdmi input or not. if it does you can connect the blu-ray player to it. If it doesn't have an hdmi input you will have to run the hdmi cable from the blu-ray to the tv then run a set of rca cables (red and white plugs) from the tv audio out to the surround systems' audio input jacks to get sound through the surround system. Most surround systems don't have an auxiliary input for another video device.
