The plastic hose to the water level sensor switch can get suds or dirt stuff in it and causes issues like this. Take the hose loose and blow through it then run a couple plain hot water cycles to clean out access soap film and residues.

SOURCE: Rinse water fills the washing machine when the spin cycle starts

Check your outlet filter, most likely it is blocked, preventing the water from draining out. Chk your pump too. Before this disconnect from the wall socket; and also check the pipe coming from the tub to the filter. Siphon out the excess water from inside the machine before you open the pipes.

SOURCE: washer

The symptoms you describe are typical of a broken lid switch. The lid switch is located under the washer top on the right hand side. It is activated through a slot by a small plastic piece on the lid called a "lid strike". Make sure the lid strike is still installed and not broken. Make sure the lid switch itself is not loose, as well. There are two mounting screws along the washer tub opening that hold it in place. If the screws become loose the switch will not make contact with the lid strike when the lid is closed. If you need to replace the switch or lid strike, the parts are available at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Washer Top and Lid" heading on the next page. The lid switch is listed as item number 22 (part #3355806) and the lid strike is listed as item number 16 (part #358684). Both parts combined will cost you about $30. If you have further questions and/or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

SOURCE: Washing Machine is not draining in rinse cycle to go to spin cycl

you both seem to have bad lid switches. A bad lid switch will prevent draining and spinning.

Samsung WA13G7Q1 machine runs all cycles until it comes to the spin cycle then the machine stops. what could be the cause of this?

If all the water has drained the most common fault is the brake motor which releases the drum so it is free to turn, with the back off and a torch you should be able to see the lever and cable being retracted id nothing happens on spin thatd your problem

My washer stops before the rinse cycle because it can't seem to drain enough to start the spin cycle. I just had the drain motor replaced one month ago. I get the error code nd. I can sto the cycle and...

I'd love to say yes! The machine is stopping because it will not drain. This is what the nd code means. Therefore, it will not rinse (add more water) or spin because the water level is already too high and to try to "spin it out" would put too much pressure on the machine with that much water in it. Drain out the water by putting the drain hose below the level of the washer (this takes forever) and call your repair man back!

GE toploader Washing Machine pumping problems

Sounds like the water is syphoning away due to the drain outlet hose being too low..Raise the hose higher, and this should solve the poroblem.
