Battery restart
Bad battery 99.9%
the changer is NOT in the A/c pack ,the PACK is only power pack.
so replacing the motherboard first is silly.(where charge chip resides)
that huge battery can fail in 1 year. if unlucky or abused, gee its a battery? take it out and test PC.
next would be bad AC power pack(costs $15 is why)
why not run on AC pack only, not big battery.
then if that runs (it can for eternity if you want)
then try a new battery..last if all else works, ok?
1:Big battery, and keep it out. (they can short too)
2: run on AC, ok now? sure.
3: now buy a battery and test RTC coin cell at 7 year mark in time.
the battery simple falls out the bottom , lever slid.
why not do that first>?

have 2 bad batteries
the big one and the coin cell.
the latter is mandatory, and the big one is optional

both batteries (ignored) for 13 years , are both no good now, if not true this.
list them at (under world record battery life)

Yes, the hardware is SDHC-compatible. You just need to apply Microsoft hotfix KB934428 for Windows XP (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=de&FamilyID=6edfb30f-b1ab-42a8-a330-acd6762961bc) and you are set. 16GB SDHC working like a charm.

Are you pressing down firmly enough? If not, sounds like the digitizer may have a problem... The digitizer is the layer in front of the lcd, it's job is to pick up the signal from your pen and send it to the motherboard. The motherboard should have two connections to the screen, one to the lcd itself and another to the digitizer. If you remove the screws on the bottom of the tablet you can take off the keyboard and see if both are connected right.

Yes you can. You will not be able to use the tablet pen however while the stylus is plugged in

Here's the link where you can download the driver for XP. Make sure you select the correct family. X41 has two types of unit. Tablet and regular laptop. Make sure also to choose the correct type and model. If you are not aware of this, it is actually at the white sticker at bottom of your laptop.
