How to reinstall windows xp thinkpad x41

How to Reload Windows XP Without Removing Files Deleting system files, modifying the registry and installing incompatible drivers to Windows XP can damage the integrity of the operating system, rendering it inoperable. Virus infections are often responsible for making the aforementioned changes to a system, but employees who have administrative access to the workstation can make deleterious modifications to the OS as well. Reinstalling Windows XP can repair the OS, but if work-related files are stored to the system partition, all of the data will be erased during the installation process. To reload Windows XP without losing files, you can perform an in-place upgrade, also known as a repair installation. Step 1 Insert the Windows XP CD into the optical drive and then press "Ctrl-Alt-Del" to restart the computer. Step 2Press any key when prompted to load the contents of the disc. Press "Enter" on the Welcome to Setup screen. Step 3 Read the license agreement, pressing "PgDn" to scroll down the page. Press "F8" to agree to the terms. The CD will search for previous installations of Windows XP. Step 4 Press "R" to repair the selected operating system. The disc will begin reinstalling the operating system to the hard drive without affecting personal files. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the repair installation. Step 5 Log in to Windows XP and sign on to the Internet when installation completes. Click "Start," "All Programs" and then "Windows Update." Step 6 Click "Scan for Updates" to search for applicable service packs and hotfixes to reinstall to the OS. Step 7 Click "Install Now" to bring the in-place upgrade up-to-date. Things Needed
  • Windows XP CD
Tip
  • Make sure you have your Windows XP product key (found on the CD cover or on the computer case) available prior to reinstallation.
Warnings
  • If possible, back up your files previous to the installation in case something goes awry during the process.
  • You will need to reinstall all non-native programs and removable devices after performing an in-place upgrade.

Lenovo ThinkPad X41 Tablet security chip. lost

I have had to retrieve the BIOS password from one of these before. It is not an easy thing to get to. You have to first
  • Build a special 9-pin Serial cable using parts you can find at Radio Shack
  • Dismantle the laptop
  • find the correct BIOS chip,
  • Solder a couple wires to the correct pins of the BIOS chip (without getting solder on the other pins, or damaging something)
  • Hook it up to another computer via serial port
  • Do a dump of the information stored on the BIOS chip
  • Use a hex-reader to decipher the information and display the password within.
Here is a link to a site that shows you in detail how to accomplish this. It does work, and I've successfully used the linked method to unlock a X41 of my own.

How do you transfer music from a Lenovo Yoga 10 tablet to an SD card

You can get an adapter cable that will fit into the tablet's USB port. It's called an OTG cable. With that, you can hook up cellphones, digital cameras, thumb drives, SD card readers and many more things. The best way to do that would be to get an adapter OTG cable and a card reader. You can also transfer it to a computer and then to the SD card. If you don't have a card reader most digital cameras will work as one. Hook the camera to a ps and look for it in my computer folder. (works on macs also) and opens it. There you can put any file on the SD card. If using an OTG adapter to just hook it to the device's USB port and go to your file manager app. I would recommend an app called ES File Explorer. it makes it simple to find files on Android devices. Once you locate the drive (usually it's called USBDRIVEA) just transfer the music. Here is a link to a video that will help. I take no credit of video.

Lenovo A1000-F will not connect to network

Hi, please attempt to use another internet source before attempt to access the app store on your tablet. This can be either ethernet or tablet. If this fails, please restart your tablet once or twice. Otherwise, you might need to transfer antivirus apps via usb into your tablet, install/run those and then attempt to access your app store again. Thank you.

My lenovo tablet won't let me open setting because I get message saying unfortunately google play has stopped working, does any one how to fix this problem? Can any one help

Google Play Services, the preinstalled app on your phone plays an extremely crucial role in the regular running of your lenvono. If anything is wrong with it, then your lenovo will start throwing fits in the form of errors and crashes including 'Google Play Services keeps stopping' error. To remove the error, you need to fix Play Services. Here you will find numerous ways to fix any issue related to Play Services. Let's get to know them. 1 Starting with, will actually with restarting you Lenovo. 2 Another that does wonders for any issue is to "clear the cache" and date of the particular app. In this case, we need to clear cache and data for "Google Play Services" and "Google Play Store". Doing any of that will not delete any data from your phone. However, clearing data will log you out from Play Store and reset its settings. In settings 3 "Google Play Services" is a system app, you cannot remove it from your lenovo completely. However, you can uninstall the updates, which will revert it to the factory version forcing your phone to update it automatically, thus fixing any issue. On the Google Play Services screen, tap on the "three-dot" icon at the top-right corner. Select Uninstall updates from the menu. 4 Unlike other installed apps, you don't have to update Google Play Services manually. It's done automatically in the background by your lenovo. However, sometimes, the issue is with the update itself. So you need to update it to the newer or older version manually. We have covered ots of ways to update google play service in detail. Do check that. And if you face any issue while updating it, check fixes. 6 Similar to restart, sometimes booting in the safe mode fixes various issues on an Android phone. Again, doing that will not delete you data and you can access it in safe mode as well. Running the lenovo in safe mode also helps in identifying the issues caused by the third-party apps. I hope these will get you over your issue with ease.

I got a Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Pro tablet which is stuck on 29% charge.

Go to Battery options on your Device settings.

Check the Battery charging mode. The device can only charge through the power adapter and may have shifted into the USB charging. If it shows USB charging, do the following.

Remove the USB connector from the Tab device and AC adapter from wall power outlet (Must need to remove both the ends).

Reconnect the USB cable and AC adapter to wall unit. Now check the charging mode, it shows charging with AC. Now the device can charge as normal condition.

If however it shows USB charging, do this step again by disconnecting the ports and reconnecting until you see the AC charging mode for Battery.

If the mode was correct, I'd test the charger unit for 5+ volts. It's possible it died.

Iv just bought a Lenovo tb7104 tablet it as got family link lock password on it I can't remove all the details as it's asking parents password if I factory reset so is they a way to hard rest it

To hard reset your tablet you will have to go to the recovery mode on your device and for that, you will have to Power Off your device and then click and hold on "Power and Volume Up or Down" for 2-4 seconds and after that you will feel a small vibration from your device and then leave the buttons and then you will see a recovery menu. Now using your Volume Buttons for Scrolling and Power button for selecting go to the Reset option and click on Power button and now it will ask for confirmation, click on Power button to confirm and after that, your device will do some operation and after that your device will reboot and it might take more than 4-5 minutes for the first boot so don't worry about that and now your device is successfully booted and everything is unlocked.
