I have a brand new mifi 5501L Verizon wireless and it wont even show a light that it is charging and wont turn on

Spend less time playing online chess outside your house where you have to connect the MiFi Jetpack to your laptop and use your data plan and more time playing at home over your home network where you do not have to use the jetpack and your data plan.

Please contact your service provider and provide them the IMEI number of the MIFI device where in turn they should provide you the unlock code of the device.

You didnt mention via cord(Lan Cable)have you ever used it? is it works?
Ok let assumed the cord can access the internet.
1.Enter your device manager
2.locate Network Adapter >> there should be 2 or 3 network adapter type
3.If you found any question mark with yellow colour >> right click on it >>> update driver
4.toshiba has application built in called zero configuration >>> open it, and try setting something matched with are you looking for ( sometimes the program stuck on something else network adapter eg. LAN cord or built in Wifi

Mine did this, I went to Best Buy where I bought it. They didn't really seem to know, said it could be the power cord to the wall, but they didn't sell them. But they could set me up with an upgrade (and new 2 year contract that I didn't want). Anyway, I went to Radio Shack and showed them my MiFi 2200 and they had the new wall charger power cord there. Works now, problem solved for $25 instead of a new 2 year contract.

You cannot connect a router to your Mifi as it does not LAn port. You can use wireless access point to amplify your wireless signal

You can go to 192.168.1.1 on your browser and it will allow you to check battery lift left

I think this won't work...the MIFI device works as a wireless router that can supply 5 connections and runs on battery which last for 4 hours for one connection then goes down as more connections are in...the MIFI was designed for mobility as the WRT54G is not...I don't exactly know what your plans are but this won't work well.

In just a few seconds, the MiFi is connected to the 3G high-speed network and the Wi-Fi router takes over. That’s the beauty of the MiFi method: Push the power button and the laptop/UMPC/phone is connected to 3G.
