The A/C cabinet of a window unit must be slightly tilted outward to allow the accumulated water to flow toward the condenser (outside) coil and fan. The unit is designed to allow the outside fan blades to pick-up the water and throw it through the condenser coil fins. The cooling effect on the condenser coil actually improves the inside cooling efficiency, plus lowers the operation cost.

They are not filled with water thats the condensation that it is making, its all good, keep the temp at a steady rate, when you get it ice cold then shut her down it makes moisture which then is water.

That is a normal function of the air conditioning. Nothing to worry about, it is removing humidity from the air.

Self absorbtion means that the water is evaporated by the blower blowing air over the condensation. On very humid days there may be too much water to evaporate. There should be a drain outlet on the back and it may be blocked. Clean it if you can find it.
