Cannot raise the feed on my Pfaff ambition essential.

Lowering feed dogs You can lower the feed dogs by moving the switch at the back of the free arm to the left. Move the switch to the right if you wish to raise the feed dogs. Note: The feed dogs will not raise immediately when the lever is switched. Turn the handwheel one full turn or start sewing to re-engage the feed dogs.

My feed dog will not go back up with leaver in back

Are you talking about the presser foot lever? That lever raises and lowers the presser foot. If you are talking about the feed dogs, there is usually a lever to raise and lower the feed dogs. Consult your owner's manual.

Janome 3050 feed dogs wont come back up

Dropping the Feed Dog
The feed dog can be lowered with the drop-feed lever for sewing on buttons etc.
  • Shift the drop-feed lever to the right to lower the feed dog.
  • Shift the lever to the left to raise the feed dog, it will return to the up position when the machine is started.

NOTE:The feed dog should be in the up position for regular sewing. Turn the handwheel toward you to check if the feed dog comes up after setting the lever in the up position

How do I get the feed dog up on model 6235

The feed dog for that machine is NOT designed to be raised or lowered; instead a cover is put over the needle plate. You might want to remove the needle plate--it's designed to be removed to access the bobbin case--and see if you can pop it up again. On models that DO have the ability to raise and lower their feed dogs, once it has been lowered, if you press the dial or lever to raise it, it won't raise until the hand wheel is turned one or two times.

Kenmore sewing machine feed dog

Probably it is the spring loaded cam on the lower shaft not moving as it is bound up. The feed drop lever pushes it to the left to lower the feed dogs, but it has to spring back on its own after you move the lever back.
If you can remove the lower free arm cover you may be able to work it loose. Do not use 3 in 1 oil as it is gummy. Better to get Lilly white sewing machine oil.
Hope that helps!

How do I raise the feed dob--I cleaning out the machine and put it back together--now the feed dog will not come up

By any chance, is this a machine that has a lever or buttons to raise and lower the feed dogs? You do not mention the make and model of your machine, therefore, not as easy to be more specific with an answer.

Raising and Lowering the feed dog on Janome 4900 MC

These machines are known to have this problem. The feed lift cam has a groove worn in it that won't allow the feed dogs to come back up. It is on the lower shaft and needs to be replaced. You can get the feed dogs back up by taking off the needle plate and lifting them up manually while turning the hand wheel. They should stay up until you drop them again.
Some people will not replace the cam and live with it.
good luck!

Dropping Feed dogs on kenmore model 19233

Remove extension table/accessory box by gentle pulling it away from machine. You are left with just the free arm. In the back of the free arm, lower left corner, you will fine the feed dog lever. Push the leaver to the right to lower the feed dog.Instructions for lowering and raising the feed dog are on page 48 of your owner's manual. Good luck!
