Remove the top thread completely from the machine.
ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot and rethread from the beginning. (Do this EVERYTIME you thread the machine to avoid bird nests.)

SOURCE: Bobbin thread bunching

I have a Kenmore 16231 That kept bunching up on the bottom side of the material. I found to correct this problem, there is a tension adjustment under the cover on the left side of the machine ( the light is housed under this cover) I found a tensiner lever numbered 1 - 4 and if you try this adjustment on 3 or 4 this machine works great. hope this helps

SOURCE: Thread is bunching underneath fabric

Needle in correct? Be sure your bobbin is not in upside down and turning the wrong way. Possibly the hook that the bobbicase fits in/on has been hit by a needle and caused a burr that is catching the thread as it comes around. The burr would have to be polished off or hook replaced. The machine could be slightly out of time also.

Try a different bobbin. Look for one that is a little narrower. I had the same problem and changing to a narrower bobbin fixed it.

SOURCE: mass bunching of thread in the bobbin compartment

it had nothing to do with the shuttle, it is the upper thread is not in the tensioner. lift the presser foot up and thread the machine even if you have to hold the thread on the top and pull on the bottom to make it go in the tensioner it will help, if a machine loops on the bottom it is the upper tension if it loops on the top it is the lower tension

How do I reset the timing on my brother vx 1120 model?

Be sure to install a brand new needle.

If it still doesn't work, then search for "sewing machine timing."

I have a brother vx1100 sewing machine and I forgot how to combine the bobin thread with the upper thread to start sewing please help

ono secret
just pull the bobbin thread down the slot in the bobbin holder and under the spring plate
leave about 6 " thread loose and put the bobbin and holder back in the machine
use you hand and turn the machine over a few times and the needle thread will pull the bobbin thread up
or use a bit of scrap material and start a short sew

My brother vx-1120 needle wont pick up bobbin thread to make a continuous stitch

Install a brand new needle. Make sure it is installed correctly.

Remove the bobbin/bobbin case from the machine. Check that the bobbin is turning the correct direction and the bobbin tension is threaded correctly. Reinstall the bobbin case and confirm that it is latched into place.

Retest your machine. Slowly turn the handwheel and watch the needle descend and see if it picks up the bobbin thread. If not, then there is probably a sewing machine timing issue. Take it for service.

Brother VX-1120- The needle is not picking up bobbin thread.

I had the same problem with my brother vx-1120 sewing machine. I set the needle to lowest position by using the hand crank. Then I loosened the knerled set screw that holds needle in place. Then I moved needle shaft till the eye of needle is just lower than the hook on the shuttle loop maker. It made my mechine work. There are instuctions for ajusting timing on machine but I think these mechines are built to not fix and throw out. Just because there where no ajustment marks at all on machine, any machanical machine will needed to be ajusted sometime.

The bobbin thread is loose and bunches up under the material i have a model 1030 and i dont remember where the tenson is

It is the dial to the right of the take up arm on top. If you go all the way to 10 and nothing happens then you'll need to take it to your nearest technician or Bernina dealership. Also its possible you may have put your bobbin in the bobbincase the wrong way. After putting the bobbin in the case and pulling the thread the bobbin should turn clockwise.
Good luck.
