I had the same problem with my brother vx-1120 sewing machine. I set the needle to lowest position by using the hand crank. Then I loosened the knerled set screw that holds needle in place. Then I moved needle shaft till the eye of needle is just lower than the hook on the shuttle loop maker. It made my mechine work. There are instuctions for ajusting timing on machine but I think these mechines are built to not fix and throw out. Just because there where no ajustment marks at all on machine, any machanical machine will needed to be ajusted sometime.

I opened up my machine to find that the bobbin winder wheel (little black ring) had totally turned into black sludge in my machine. It is very gooey and hard to remove. I ordered the part from sewingpartsonline.com and replaced the ring. It is still not working..... ugh

Look at the feed dogs under the foot see if they are raised high enough to pull the material through.

The top of the machine is not threaded correctly. First raise the presserfot then rethread the machine. Bottom looping is usually caused by a lack of top tension. There could allso be a bur on the hook.

If it is in fact the circuit board, you will probably need to have it serviced unless you know someone who is a computer repair guru.If you just purchased it new, it is still covered under warranty....

If you or someone you know is mechanically inclined, you will need to take five screws out of the back including a hard to find one under the foot raising lever (lower the foot), then one form the front that is under the thread cartridge, and you will have to remove the bobbin winding plate cover which is held by one small screw, and then remove a small screw from the support bar.

Needle damaged, in backwards, wrong needle, needle not fully up in the needle clamp; bobbin in backwards or wrong and/or machine out of time. User error is far more common than timing problems.

Needs a new needle right way around, most likely. And check the threading on both bobbin and top of the machine. It makes a big difference which way the bobbin turns in the bobbin case.

Which tension? If it's the upper tension (loops on the bottom of the fabric), rethread the top from scratch, this time with the presser foot UP so the thread can enter between the tension disks. Presser foot down to sew, which engages the tension.

It is supposed to leave a thread tail about an inch long after cutting.

Did it pick up the thread before you removed the bobbin case?

Suggest open bobbin case to see if loose thread has jammed it.
