SOURCE: Is this machine a high or low shank?

High Shank Machines are all the Janome Embroidery models MC 8000, MC 9000, 10000, 10001, 11000, 200E, 300E, 350E....etc
If yours is not an embroidery machine, it has a LOW SHANK .....the higher shank allows for easier access for the embroidery hoop.

SOURCE: where can i buy presser

You shouldn't need a specific CE100 presser foot. A universal presser foot that will attach with a side screw will work fine. I use standard zipper foot and other standard feet on my CE100 all the time.

If you don't know what a "universal" foot is, ask for help at your local Joann's or Hancock Fabrics, or whatever store you go to. Or do a search online for a Universal presser foot and examine it. It should have a spot on the lefthand side of the shank that the screw will slip into either from the top, behind or front to attach it to the shaft coming down from the machine. No need to purchase a special foot at all.

Janome MC 3000 shank height

The Janome Memory Craft 3000 uses a low shank snap-on presser foot with a presser foot holder for most of its standard presser feet. See page 17 (page 19 of the PDF) of the User Manual available from Janome on the retired machine support page: https://www.janome.com/support/retired-machine-manuals/ . The current link to the manual is https://www.janome.com/siteassets/support/manuals/retired/computer/inst-book-mc3000.pdf . For specific presser feet that originally came with the machine, see page 3 of the manual (page 5 of the PDF). You can get presser feet that are known to be compatible at most sewing machine supply vendors, including https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/janome-memory-craft-3000-sewing-machine-parts.aspx?filter.ptype_gmcfeed_1=%20Presser%20Feet&index=39 or https://www.sewingmachinesplus.com/janome-mc3000-parts-accessories.php . A few presser feet have their own shank and require you to take off the holder.

I hope this helps.

How do I know if my janome 5700 is high shank or low shank?

Hi there, If the length from the bottom of the presser foot to the center of the screw is half an inch, you have a low shank machine. If you measure 1 inch or longer, you have a high shank machine. Hope this helps, have a great day!

Will a 7 mm high shank adaptor work for Janome skyline s5?

Perhaps this will help:

https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/sewing-machine-presser-feet.aspx?sort.ss_cat_sort=desc&index=1

If your machine has a presser foot sensor, it's likely a 7mm will not be accepted. Even if it does work, you will need to be careful to not set the stitch width wider than the 7mm will allow.

I have installed a Janome Walking foot on my Janome Skyline S5 and have the feed dogs up, but the foot does not touch the quilt sandwich or pull the sandwich through. What do I do?

You have the presser foot lowered? All I can think is you may have the wrong walking foot. It should be the same height as your regular presser feet.

E99670 short shank, or snap on presser feet?

Make sure--Does the machine take a short shank presser foot? If so, you can replace it with a short shank zig-zag presser foot. You can probably go to a regular sewing machine repair shop and find a replacement presser foot.

**NOTE--the links below are examples of what is available. I cannot vouch for these vendors as I've never purchased from them. Do your own due diligence before purchasing!!!

Here's an open toe presser foot:

or a regular zig-zag foot:

OR you can buy a short shank adapter and a kit of snap-on presser feet that will give you a big variety of different kinds of presser feet, probably including a zipper foot, hemmer foot, 1/4" quilting foot, darning foot, teflon foot, etc....(probably more than she will ever use!) The snap-on kits are available online, try eBay or some of the other sites. They most likely are not Singer brand, but are most likely generic. However, if your granddaughter is just learning, this may be the broadest variety of choices.

These are examples of snap-on presser feet available.

Problems with the walking foot on a janome skyline s5. Worked well for awhile. Now skipped stitches, puckering, length &width off.

The U shaped clamp usually hooks "around" the needle screw. Yes, usually the walking foot may need oil (just a tiny bit) where the parts move against each other.
