I have lenovo thinkcentre A57, i can't access in bios setup while pressing F1, F8 or F12, when i'm pressing any of them the computer continue to boot in a black screen. Sincerely: Juls

To start the Setup Utility program, do the following:
1.
If your computer is already on when you start this procedure, turn off the
computer.
2.
Repeatedly press and release the F1 key when turning on the computer. When
you hear multiple beeps or see a logo screen, release the F1 key.
Note:
If a Power-On Password or an Administrator Password has been set, the
Setup Utility program menu is not displayed until you type the correct
password.

Lenovo 3000 j series was working fine then looked at screen and it was all squiggle lines and computer seemed froze. i manually turned it off and waited. i then turned it back on and there is no video

First, is the computer coming on, do you hear the boot up beeps and sounds. if that is happening, try another monitor, if that works, buy a new one, if that does not work, repalce the video card. if none of that works, take the machine to a local shop for analisis. This might remotely be caused by a virus, but if you are using a good virus protection, it should have caught it.

Short-short-short-long beeps repeated

NOT GOOD My Friend....you just blew the BIOS:
Never update BIOS unless the computer is not working all that well. When doing new Bios, the Precise BIOs for the computer are required. Any change can damage the instruction set and render the BIOs useless. Also...any interruption during the rewriting of a BIOs will mess of the Chip and blank out the instruction set. If you can, with the correct BIOS downloaded to a flash drive, you may restructure the BIOS if they can be flashed again.

This could be a case of overheating.
First question, did the no signals sign appear out of the blue?
Check inside for melted components.
Clean your computer, remove all dust.

Lenovo 3000 J Series won't boot up. It beeps 4 times and does nothing.

the only beep code i can find for 4 beeps is a keyboard error. if you're using ps/2 you should make sure you haven't put the plugs in the wrong ports. i found the information here: http://download.lenovo.com/ibmdl/pub/pc/pccbbs/thinkcentre_pdf/41t3751.pdf

I put in a new sound card and now my computer wont start up past the lenovo screen and i need to fix it so i can work

The first thing to do is remove the sound card to see if the computer works without it. If you are still having problems starting, then you'll have to look for a different reason the computer won't start. Quite possibly you disconnected something when you installed the card. Check for that.

On start up, my Computer just beeps. 4 beeps 2 beeps 3 beeps 3 beeps, then nothing. I have not installed any new software or hardware.. Any clues on how to relove this?

You have a hardware device or memory module or a part that has gone bad maybe loose or just needs to be changed out. Most likely it will be a memory module or a keyboard or a USB device unplug any of those items then restart the computer and see if the beeping stops.

Also you can remove a memory stick one at a time to see if the beeping stops if it does then you have found your issue. Also unplug the computer from the wall socket and push the power button in for 2-3 seconds this resets the computer to load its defaults. Look for the issue one by one and with the power button pushed after you unplug from the wall and ground yourself by touching the case metal before you touch parts inside the computer. I use latex rubber gloves personally.

Replace and go from there. It is about isolating the problem now to stop the beeping. So give that a try it is nothing that you have done it is the computers method of letting you now something is not working that is all. Thanks for using FixYa! John

Pls, after flashing my compaq nx 6320 laptop, the screen cant come on. its beeps once and thats all.

Hi,

1 beep usually indicates that the System, is ok and past The Bios Tests. i,d suggest that you may have flashed the incorrect bios. or it has not updated thoroughly. or corrupt.
there a couple of possible solutions, one is to reflash with the original bios. secondly maybe to obtain the vga/graphics chip drivers onto a cd, and boot the laptop up with the disk in the drive.
A system restore Disk, may be the Only Other option.
