SOURCE: what company manufactured lid switch PS350434 FOR WHIRLPOOL WASHER

3949247 is the actual part number for that lid switch, and you won't find a blow out of the thing taken apart because its a molded part and not designed to come apart/

How to replace lid switch assembly #3949247 for a Whirlpool Washe

we just bypass them, unless your going to stick your hand in there during spin cycle,-unplug washer, remove the 2 head screws 1 on each side of the head, flip the head up,you will see the lid switch jack in the middle of the top of washer, unplug it,cut the 2 outside wires and wire nut them together, plug back in,put the head back, plug in washer and your done, this way it cost you nothing to fix,the other way would be around $40,let me know how you do-mike

Our Whirlpool washer won't drain

this machine has the pump directly atached to the pump assy, so if the motor is runnning your pump will drain water. more likely is that when you put the unit back together perhaps you didnt plug the lid switch assembly bak in. if there is no lid switch detected the unit will not drain or spin and when it gets to that mode it will simply stall out. no noise or anything. will fill, agitate but not spin and/or drain/ check the lid switch!

Whirlpool lxr7144eqo washer

Find the lid switch, it may be held on by two screws on the right side of the washer opening. If it looks broken, try to super glue it back together. If that doesn't work, bypass it by cutting and stripping the wires, and connecting them together. Use a good insulator, wire nut, or wire crimp. Put the wires back where they were, make sure they can't get bumped by the drum. The washer will now operate with the lid up, so be careful. Keep kids away from it, don't be sticking your arm in there when the machine is on.
