unplug unit,remove screws on each end of the front of the control panel,then swing control panel up and back out of the way,then you will see the lid switch in the left hand corner,there is a grey colored snap on one end to remove the switch,make sure the lid is up to accomplish this,then connect an ohmmeter to the 2 switch terminals,not the green wire as this is the ground wire,then manually operate the switch by hand and watch the ohmmeter for indication

they don't separate,the best way to clean it out is to lift it off the clothes mover and soat it numerous times in very HOT water to melt the gooey residue in the cup then rinse out and replace cup

You can try Lestoil to get the grease out, it has surfactants that will help break up the grease, if they aren't set too deeply. This seems to me to have a leaking transmission if you are constantly getting grease on the clothes. A better machine is anything newer that you can afford, quite honestly, there is only your preference to what you want/need for your usage.

if it does not agitate as well then the drive coupling between the motor and transmission may be broken.

A washing machine may wiggle, rattle or move across the floor. It is often accompanied by excessive, or loud noise. There can be several causes and the problem is worse with some units more than others.The most common cause is an unbalanced wash load. Open the lid/door, and attempt to redistribute the clothing to balance the weight. Heavy loads, especially things like comforters, are more likely to become unbalanced than small loads. If you do a lot of heavy loads, you should consider a heavy duty/large capacity washer when it comes time to replace your current unit. A washer must be level both from side to side as well as from front to back. Washing machines have adjustable feet to enable you to level them. See your manual on how to level your washing machine.The outer tub/basket, is supported by springs, pistons or counterweights to keep it balanced. The weight of all that water in a wash load requires a powerful balancing mechanism. If the balancing system becomes detached from one or more points, it will not be able to balance the load properly. Furthermore, even if everything appears to be in place, as the appliance ages, the springs or pistons/shock absorbers, may begin to wear out and not support as much weigh as needed.

Unplug the washer and open the cabinet. Because of the variety of balancing mechanisms, you will have to inspect your machine to determine how it is balanced. Once you discover the mechanism, then inspect it for integrity. In the case of old parts that appear to be in working order, you may not be able to tell if they need to be replaced. They may be weak but appear to be in good condition. If no other solution resolves the problem, then replacing the balancing springs or other moving support parts may be the best action.Another common cause for excessive movement, or clunking, is the floor on which the washer rests. The washer is heavy and even more so when filled with water. Any floor, other than a concrete slab, will tend to pick up and amplify the vibrations from the machine.There are a couple things you can try. If you have access to the joists under the floor, you may be able to beef up the support. Another thing to try is placing a large sheet of plywood under the washer. It should be 3/4" or even 1" thick and as large as possible to distribute the weight. Use a sheet big enough for both the washer and dryer to sit on. If possible fasten the plywood to the existing floor.


NOTE_ Verify That the shipping system including shipping bolts, spacers and cables are removed. This is a common issue when a new washer is installed.

1. Unplug machine and plug a known good device into outlet to make sure you have power.
2. Advance timer into spin mode and turn on. If it spins, then it is usually the water level switch. That part starts the whole cycle.
3. Set the water fill selector to warm to make sure it is not just one side of the water valve bad.
4. If no luck with above, and there is power to the timer ( you will need a volt meter to test it) then it sounds like a dead timer.

It really sounds like a timer issue. The electrical contacts inside the timer are worn and not sending voltage to the motor. It is what we call a "dead spot". If it really works well in other cycles that would be a tell tale sign.

Follow these steps:

1. First, make sure you have the washer casing seated correctly on the frame. With the lid of the washer open, place grasp case under front rim and place it on the washer frame. While looking down through the washer lid opening, make sure the front lip of the case is placed UNDER the washer frame and rocked back onto the frame to ensure that the small cleats on the frame fit into the slotted grooves on the washer case base. If you do not get the case seated correctly it will rattle and vibrate while the washer is in operation.

2. Make sure the back of the washer fits into the washer casing on each side by leaning over the front of the washer and grasping the back panel and pull towards you.

3. Reinsert the brass clips by placing the 90 degree bend of the clip into the slot on the back of the washer first. With the clip inserted on the back panel, forcefully push the J-hook end of the clip down into the opening on top of the washer. The clip should snap back into place and the washer casing should fit tight against the back panel and frame.

NOTE: Each clip has a 90 degree bend at one end, and a j-hook end at the other. The 90 degree bend fits into the back panel slot, the j-hook fits into the top panel. Make sure the clip is properly oriented, or it won't fit properly.
