SOURCE: my 93 honda accord has a problem with idleing the

do the procedure below.

, I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

My Honda Accord 2000 EX 2 door coupe, 3.0L, has thrown a P0505 code after I cleaned the egr port on the intake manifold. After the car warms up, the idle will bounce between 1000 rpms and 1500 rpms, up...

First check the connector and wiring. If good, remove the idle air control valve and clean the passages as well as the valve and seat. Reconnect the valve but don't install. Have someone start the car while you plug the downstream passage. The car sould idle down or stall, and the valve should retract. Remove your finger, and the valve should extend. If the car will not idle down with the passage plugged, you have a vacuum leak. If the valvedoes not react properly, check continuity of the wires to the ecu.

There is a coolant passage that goes to the idle control system. The idle control itself is not bad. Cleaning this passage will make it normal again. I have fixed a 95 honda accord this way, and a 97 honda accord. You will need to remover the whole assembly. Actually the whole rapair doesn;t need parts so thats good news for you. Be carefull since the idle control is made of aluminum, and can be damaged easily. I damaged the one I was working on, thankfully I also have an aluminum mig welder so I was able to repair it like new.

1997 Civic Lx idles rough and low especially with AC on

It's the extra load on your engine when AC compressor kicks on, and it draws engine rpm down. Your fuel injection system has what is called an "idle air control valve", that is supposed to overcome that and adjust idle up & down automatically as needed according to engine load conditions. I'd say it needs replacement, unfortunately it's a little more expensive than most & will run you about $165. Before you do, if you do, make sure all connections & any hoses running to it are in good shape no cracks, on tight & clean, as that can also cause part to malfunction.

Low idle stalls out

Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls at stops and low erratic idle speed and rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

im sorry to say that the idle screw wont fix your problem, that just keeps the idle at the right rpms. could be bad plug wires or anything please take to a different shop.
